Vincent Kompany's Bayern Munich can cement their place at the top with a win in Der Klassiker

- Borussia Dortmund beat Bayern Munich 2-0 in the last Der Klassiker at Allianz Arena
- Bochum have conceded 32 goals in their 11 Bundesliga games this season
- No team has drawn more games than Bayer Leverkusen with five this term

Der Klassiker stands out as the pick of the weekend’s fixtures in the Bundesliga as Bayern Munich make the trip to rivals Borussia Dortmund on Saturday evening.

However, before Bayern and BVB do battle in Dortmund, Week 12 gets under way at Millerntor-Stadion on Friday night with an intriguing contest at the bottom end of the Bundesliga table.

St. Pauli vs Holstein Kiel (Friday, 7.30pm)

Two sides struggling for wins at the wrong end of the table, there is little to choose from between St. Pauli and Holstein Kiel. St. Pauli have not won at home in the Bundesliga this season but can earn a third draw at Millerntor-Stadion on Friday night.

Score prediction: 1-1

Augsburg vs Bochum (Saturday, 2.30pm)

Augsburg saw their three-game unbeaten run in the Bundesliga come to an end against frontrunners Bayern Munich but can get back to winning ways against Bochum. Losing all of their last seven away games in the league, it is hard to see Bochum leaving WWK Arena with anything to show for their efforts.

Score prediction: 2-0

Freiburg vs Borussia Monchengladbach (Saturday, 2.30pm)

Two teams sat on 17 points go head-to-head on Saturday as Freiburg host Borussia Monchengladbach at Europa-Park Stadion. These are two evenly-matched teams and, while Gladbach have been in good form, they might well be held to a draw by a Freiburg side who have lost just one of their last five home games in the Bundesliga.

Score prediction: 1-1

RB Leipzig vs Wolfsburg (Saturday, 2.30pm)

Without a win in their last five games in all competitions, RB Leipzig are having a wobble in the build-up to the festive period. Saturday’s opponents Wolfsburg on the other hand are unbeaten in their last five games in all competitions and can claim three points at Red Bull Arena.

Score prediction: 0-1

Union Berlin vs Bayer Leverkusen (Saturday, 2.30pm)

Xabi Alonso's Bayer Leverkusen have found their mojo, scoring 10 goals in winning their last two games
Xabi Alonso's Bayer Leverkusen have found their mojo, scoring 10 goals in winning their last two games

Bayer Leverkusen have turned a corner recently and find themselves in free-scoring form ahead of their trip to Union Berlin on Saturday. The reigning Bundesliga champions beat Heidenheim 5-2 before enjoying a 5-0 win over RB Salzburg, so a high-scoring victory can be expected over a Union Berlin side without a win in their last four league games.

Score prediction: 0-3

Werder Bremen vs Stuttgart (Saturday, 2.30pm)

A 2-0 win over Bochum in their last Bundesliga game has potentially papered over the cracks for Stuttgart as they get set to travel to Werder Bremen this weekend. On the back of a 5-1 defeat on the road at Crvena zvezda in Europe, fatigue could be an issue against a fresher Werder Bremen side on Saturday.

Score prediction: 2-1

Borussia Dortmund vs Bayern Munich (Saturday, 5.30pm)

The highlight of the weekend, Bayern Munich can be the ones with the points and the bragging rights in their Klassiker showdown with Borussia Dortmund. Bayern’s defence has been outstanding, with seven wins in a row and no goals conceded in that time. Vincent Kompany’s side look capable of continuing that trend this weekend.

Score prediction: 0-1

Mainz 05 vs Hoffenheim (Sunday, 2.30pm)

A quick turnaround for Hoffenheim from a trip to Portugal’s Sporting Braga will not help their preparations for Sunday's trip to Mainz 05. The hosts have won 3-1 against Borussia Dortmund and 3-0 over Holstein Kiel in their last two games and can keep the winning run going this weekend.

Score prediction: 3-1

Heidenheim vs Eintracht Frankfurt (Sunday, 4.30pm)

Along with Bayerm, Eintracht Frankfurt are one of the form teams in Germany right now, with a three-game winning streak in the Bundesliga going into Sunday’s trip to Heidenheim. There is little to suggest this Heidenheim side, who are winless in their last six league games, can stop Frankfurt this weekend.

Score prediction: 0-3
