Florian Wirtz to score at any time

Two of Europe's in-form clubs meet at De Kuip in Rotterdam where hosts Feyenoord have not lost since December.

The Dutch runners-up are in fine form but know they will have to be on their guard to see off German champions, Bayer Leverkusen, who were unbeaten domestically last season.

Team news

Feyenoord are without new left-back Hugo Bueno, who picked up a muscle injury days after joining from Wolves on loan.

Europa League finalists Leverkusen are expected to be without Exequiel Palacios, who has been struggling with a knee injury.

Fyenoord have drawn four of their five matches this season and both teams have scored in all five.

The Rotterdam giants are unbeaten in 31 competitive matches since a 2-1 defeat at Celtic in the Champions League in December.

Feyenoord have lost 16 of their last 19 Champions League fixtures.

Leverkusen are unbeaten in their last 29 away matches in all competitions, while they have found the net at least once in all of those 29 fixtures.

Prediction

Any suggestion that night-one nerves might temper the action in Rotterdam looks misplaced.

These are two attack-minded sides who have no problem scoring goals and are also quite leaky at the back, leaving the sense that there could be plenty of goals in this tie.

Leverkusen will go off as strong favourites and the way the Europa League runners-up and Bundesliga champions stormed to a 4-1 win at Hoffenheim on Saturday would certainly add to the belief they should get up.

But Feyenoord are no mugs. They broke the Ajax-PSV duopoly in 2022-23 to win the Eredivisie and were a respectable second behind Eindhoven in the spring.

They kicked off this season by pipping PSV in a penalty shoot-out for the Supercup and are unbeaten after their opening four league games with six points.

They have not kept a clean sheet in those five matches though and that has to be a concern against a Leverkusen team with so many good options in attack.

One of those is three-goal Victor Boniface who is 59/50 with LiveScore Bet to score at any time in Rotterdam. The better option at a nicer price, however, is Florian Wirtz, Bayer's penalty-taking forward, who has already bagged three goals to follow up the 18 he notched in 2023-24.
