Emma Hayes called for more composure from Chelsea after they could only muster a goalless draw with group leaders Hacken in their Champions League clash at Stamford Bridge.

The hosts entered the game knowing victory would propel them to the top of Group D.

But the Blues found themselves frustrated by the visitors’ block and unable to take advantage of the lion's share of possession.

Erin Cuthbert came closest to breaking the deadlock during a contest that left Hayes with a disappointed dressing room and highlighted multiple areas of improvement ahead of next week's reverse fixture.

She said: "You can't just play into the block like we did.

"We were a bit frustrated and I think quite rightly because for the amount of ball we had and the amount of final third entries, there wasn't enough quality from the team as a whole.

"I thought we lacked a little bit of calm and composure the longer the game went on. I can see the frustrations among the players.

"You know, it's a point and we still have to go to Gothenburg.

"I think you have moments that are a bit tricky in a season, you can't go through an entire year completely perfect.

"We've scored multiple goals up until the last two games and I think when you have these moments you get to see the characters of your players come through.

"I could tell from the way the team started the game they want to do the right things.

"But for whatever reason, players who are very good football players, some of them struggled to do the basics."

Lauren James, who received a barrage of abuse following an incident in Saturday's 4-1 defeat to Women's Super League rivals Arsenal, was warmly received by supporters when she entered as a second-half substitute.

Hayes, 47, added: "She should get that reception. She's one of their own. I expect that from our fans."

Boss Mak Lind was pleased to see Hacken pick up another point,.

He said: "We’re proud of the players, they put a lot of heart on the pitch."
