Bromley marked their home Football League debut with a comfortable 2-0 League Two win over AFC Wimbledon at Hayes Lane.

Goals in either half from Michael Cheek and Corey Whitely were enough for Bromley to continue their honeymoon start to life in the fourth tier of England football and make it six points from six.

A quick opening saw Whitely draw a fine low save from Owen Goodman before Bromley took the lead just after the half-hour mark.

Whitely and Cheek combined for the latter to drill a low shot past Wimbledon goalkeeper Goodman to score Bromley’s first-ever home league goal.

The second period saw the visitors on the front foot in the early exchanges but they could not make their possession count and they were duly punished on the hour mark.

Danny Imray’s lung busting run saw him cross the ball for Whitely to turn and shoot home.

The Dons pushed for a way back into the match but Grant Smith produced three saves in a minute, denying Josh Kelly, Josh Neufville and Alistair Smith to ensure the hosts held on to the three points and a clean sheet.
