Wolves can grind out result on the road

Wolves went into the World Cup break sitting bottom of the Premier League standings and having won just twice in the top flight all season, but there is renewed optimism at Molineux following the appointment of Lopetegui as head coach.

Lopetegui's first match in charge saw Wolves claim a solid if unspectacular 2-0 victory over League Two Gillingham in the fourth round of the Carabao Cup and they will now be looking to follow up by gaining a positive result away at fellow strugglers Everton.

The Toffees sit just a point and place above the relegation zone and they entered the break having lost three games on the spin across all competitions, including back-to-back defeats to Bournemouth in league and cup.

Only Southampton have picked up fewer home points than Frank Lampard's side in the top flight this season and Wolves will fancy their chances of, at the very least, picking up a point at Goodison Park, perhaps even all three, after all, they did do the double over the Toffees last season.

Bet 2: Back under 3 goals in the match

Goals have been a problem for both these sides of late, as Wolves (eight) are the only team to have scored fewer in the Premier League this season than Everton (11).

The Toffees drew a blank in their final three top-flight matches before the break, while Wolves have netted just three times on the road all term.

Last season's corresponding fixture ended in a 1-0 victory for Wolves and, given the form of both sides in the final third, it would be a surprise if we saw more than two goals scored on Boxing Day.

Bet 3: Back a red card in the match

Given both teams' proximity to the relegation zone, this could prove a feisty encounter, especially when you consider Wolves have picked up the most red cards in the Premier League this season (three).

These two sides also rank highly for yellow cards in the top flight during 2022-23 (Everton sixth, Wolves eighth), which suggests that referee Craig Pawson might be in for a busy afternoon.

There was also a red card when the teams last locked horns on Merseyside, as Jonjoe Kenny was dismissed for Everton after receiving two yellows back in March.

Arsenal to pick up where they left off

League leaders Arsenal will be hoping to pick up where they left off before the World Cup break, as the Gunners claimed 12 wins from their opening 14 top-flight games and are a perfect six victories from six at the Emirates Stadium.

That should stand them in good stead when they host London rivals West Ham, who sit just a point clear of the relegation zone after losing four of their last five league games.

History also favours Arsenal in this fixture, as Mikel Arteta's side have only lost one of the last 14 meetings between the two sides, while the previous seven encounters at the Emirates have all ended in victory for the hosts.

Bet 2: Back Eddie Nketiah to score anytime

Arsenal's title hopes were dealt a blow during the break, as they lost striker Gabriel Jesus to a knee injury, but while the Brazil international's absence is a blow, it does hand an opportunity to Eddie Nketiah.

Nketiah showed his quality in front of goal the last time he was afforded a regular place in Arsenal's starting XI, as he ended last term by scoring five goals from his final seven top-flight appearances.

The 23-year-old also struck the winner against West Ham at the Emirates back in September 2020 and he will be confident of getting on the scoresheet once again on Boxing Day.

Bet 3: Back over 2 goals in the match

Arsenal have scored a minimum of two goals in each of their last nine league fixtures at the Emirates, a run that dates back to last season and includes them notching five against both Nottingham Forest and Everton.

Finding the back of the net has not been so easy for West Ham, but David Moyes' side have at least scored in four of their last six meetings with Arsenal and they should contribute to an entertaining festive clash.
