- Blackburn won both fixtures against Swansea last season
- Five of Swansea’s last six matches have seen over 2.5 goals
- Recommended bet: Blackburn to win and over 2.5 goals

Blackburn welcome Swansea to Ewood Park on Saturday afternoon as they look to extend their run of three wins on the spin against a side who have lost their previous two matches.

Jon Dahl Tomasson’s Rovers started the campaign poorly, but their trio of victories has shot them up the Championship table and they are now within touching distance of the play-off places, which they would have been targeting prior to the season’s start.

Their visitors find themselves in 19th place, six points above the relegation zone, and Michael Duff will be hoping his side can find some form sooner rather than later before questions about going down to League 1 become a regular feature of his interviews.

Team news

Dom Hyam suffered an injury against Millwall in the week and will join Aynsley Pears, Ryan Hedges, Sam Gallagher, and Harry Leonard in the Blackburn treatment room.

Swans boss Duff has confirmed that Ben Cabango will travel with the squad to Blackburn, while Josh Key and Mykola Kuharevich could also make the trip to Lancashire.

However, Joe Allen, Josh Ginnelly and Nathan Wood remain on the sidelines.

The stats

Blackburn have won their last three matches in the Championship, while Swansea have lost their last two games.

Rovers have kept just one clean sheet in eight home matches this season and five of Swansea’s last six matches have seen over 2.5 goals.

Blackburn won both fixtures against Swansea last season.

Five of Swansea’s six home matches this term have seen over 2.5 goals.

Prediction

Ewood Park looks set to stage an exciting game on Saturday, as five of Blackburn’s home matches this season have seen over 2.5 goals, while the same is true in five of Swansea’s last six fixtures.

Sammie Szmodics has been in fine form for Rovers this term, scoring seven in the Championship already, and he could strike again facing opponents he netted against last season.

The Blackburn playmaker could prove vital in securing a victory for his side, which would make it three wins in a row against the Swans, Rovers having completed a league double against their visitors last season without conceding a goal.

However, Swansea have scored 10 times in their six away matches this season and will likely contribute to the goal count, even in defeat.

Both history and league form suggest that Blackburn should have too much for their visitors on Saturday in a match full of action, as the hosts look set to continue their fine run of form.
