Barca teenager Guiu scores seconds into LaLiga debut
Barcelona forward Marc Guiu scored 33 seconds after coming on as a second-half substitute to give his side a 1-0 victory over Athletic Club at Camp Nou.
The 17-year-old, making his first appearance in LaLiga, rounded the goalkeeper and finished into an empty net with his first touches of the ball.
No Barcelona player in the club's history has scored a faster debut goal in the Spanish top flight.
Guiu was the difference-maker in a frustrating game, as Athletic kept Barcelona relatively quiet in attack until the latter stages. Victory took the Blaugrana up to third, one point behind Girona and Real Madrid.
The teenager is highly regarded at the club, having featured in pre-season matches and been included in several matchday squads.
He has been capped 12 times by Spain's U17s, scoring eight goals.
Earlier this month, Barcelona youth coach Ivan Carrasco said: "He is a pure centre forward, a classic '9', a specialist in the area who lives from his physical power.
"His best quality is his aerial play. Marc is also very quick and powerful, he is unstoppable with space.
"He is not a striker who can drop to the flanks or stands out for his combination play but he is aware of his strengths and limitations and knows how to focus on his strengths and hide his flaws.
"Another of his qualities is his great ability to fight for every ball and press like an animal — defenders are not comfortable with such a hard-working striker profile."
