- West Brom snapped their eight-match winless streak with a 2-1 win at Hull last time out
- Norwich have won only two of eight away games this season
- Recommended bet: West Brom to win 1-0

Championship victories have been a scarce commodity for both West Brom and Norwich, who are targeting maximum points when they meet at The Hawthorns on Saturday.

The Canaries have lost their last three matches, having drawn their previous three and their underwhelming away record is a concern for manager Johannes Hoff Thorup.

West Brom kick off this round of fixtures in fifth spot but they had gone eight games without a win before a much-needed victory at Hull just before the international break.

Team news

West Brom defender Mason Holgate is likely to miss out after suffering a calf injury while playing for Jamaica.

He joins fellow centre-backs Semi Ajayi, Kyle Bartley and Paddy McNair on the sidelines while left-back Gianluca Frabotta and striker Daryl Dike are also injured.

Norwich will welcome back Scotland midfielder Kenny McLean from suspension and winger Onel Hernandez is fit again.

However, the Canaries are still missing injured goalkeeper Angus Gunn as well as forwards Josh Sargent and Ashley Barnes and central midfielders Marcelino Nunez and Liam Gibbs.

The stats

Johannes Hoff Thorup has struggled to keep Norwich tight at the back

West Brom have had four 0-0 draws in their last six league matches.

Publicidad

The Baggies have won only one of their last nine Championship games.

Eight of West Brom's last 10 league matches ended with under 2.5 goals.

Norwich have kept only two clean sheets in 17 league and cup matches this season.

Both teams have scored in four of the Canaries' last five Championship away fixtures.

Norwich have lost their last two league games by a 2-0 scoreline.

Prediction

West Brom made a blistering start to their Championship campaign, winning five of their first six matches and only dropping points in a 0-0 draw with title favourites Leeds.

They have won only once in nine matches since then, however, and face a defensive injury crisis on Saturday as Mason Holgate has joined three senior centre-backs on the sidelines.

That area of weakness may be cancelled out by Norwich's attacking absentees as USA international Josh Sargent and experienced forward Ashley Barnes are still missing for the Canaries.

Neither team is in great form but the Baggies have a rock-solid base, conceding only one goal in their first seven home league matches this term.

Both of their home victories, against Swansea and Plymouth, were by a 1-0 margin and that correct score is worth chancing against a Norwich side who have been beaten to nil by Sheffield Wednesday and Bristol City in their last two outings.
