Tottenham have held internal talks about bringing Daniel James to North London on a season-long loan.

Antonio Conte is said to be keen on replacing any outgoings before Thursday's 11pm deadline.

With Bryan Gil set to return to Spain and join Gennaro Gattuso at Valencia, Spurs will need cover for his absence.

And transfer guru Fabrizio Romano has claimed that both Tottenham and Everton are interested in the winger.

James, 24, has already experienced life at a top six club with Manchester United, where he scored six Premier League goals and provided seven assists.

Romano suggested that the move would be down to the player, with Leeds happy for the Welshman to stay at Elland Road.

Spurs have also sounded out Yannick Carrasco, according to The Telegraph, with the club having a long-standing interest in the versatile Belgian.

It is set to be a busy few days for Conte as his side look to keep pace at the top of the table. The Italian stated in his press conference on Monday that he would like more incomings before the deadline.
