Barcelona are keen to sign Mohamed Salah and Raheem Sterling as Xavi looks to bolster his side's attacking options.

Salah, 29, has 18 months remaining on his contract and there are fears time is running out for the Egyptian to extend his stay at Anfield.

Having netted 10 times in 11 Premier League games this season, it is no surprise the Ballon d'Or nominee is attracting admiring glances from Liverpool's European rivals.

Salah is said to be keen to become one of the highest-paid players in the world alongside Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi. which may explain his reluctance to commit to a new contract on Merseyside.

And El Nacional suggest Barcelona are working on a deal for the former Chelsea man — while also exploring the possibility of luring unsettled Manchester City star Sterling to the Camp Nou.

Pep Guardiola is interested in a swap deal with his former club, which would see German goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen move to Manchester.

City have previously shown interest in Frenkie de Jong but have now turned their attention to his Barca team-mate Ter Stegen, according to El Nacional.

However, it is claimed both Xavi and Barca president Joan Laporta are not willing to part company with the stopper within the next 12 months.

Even with a potential swap deal on the cards, SPORT suggest the club's financial plight would make it difficult to land 26-year-old Sterling.

And that would also make you think Salah's potential wage demands would be problematic for the fallen LaLiga giants.
