Tottenham to win

Crystal Palace made a winning start to life under new manager Oliver Glasner, beating struggling Burnley 3-0 last weekend, but they face a testing trip to Tottenham on Saturday.

Palace have struggled against the stronger teams in the division and their recent away results include a 5-0 rout at Arsenal and a 4-1 defeat to rivals Brighton.

Spurs were beaten 2-1 by Wolves in their last game at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium but they had won their previous five home league matches and beat Palace 2-1 in October's reverse fixture at Selhurst Park.

Team news

Tottenham are missing the injured Pedro Porro, Destiny Udogie, Ryan Sessegnon, Manor Solomon and Fraser Forster.

Publicidad

Emerson Royal and Ben Davies are likely to start in the full-back positions.

Crystal Palace will assess the fitness of Eberechi Eze, Joachim Andersen and Will Hughes.

Marc Guehi is set for up to eight weeks on the sidelines after undergoing minor knee surgery, while new manager Oliver Glasner is also likely to be without Michael Olise, Rob Holding, Cheick Doucoure and Jesurun Rak-Sakyi.

The stats

Oliver Glasner may have won his first game in charge of Crystal Palace but Spurs away is a far tougher test

Both teams have scored in 15 of Tottenham's last 16 Premier League matches.

Publicidad

There have been over 3.5 goals in five of Spurs's last seven league games.

Tottenham's last three home defeats were all by a 2-1 scoreline.

Four of Crystal Palace's seven wins have come against the bottom two, Burnley and Sheffield United.

Palace have failed to score in only one of their last 10 league games.

The Eagles have scored only three first-half goals in 13 away matches this season.

Prediction

Oliver Glasner's Eintracht Frankfurt side lost 3-2 at Tottenham in a dramatic group game in last season's Champions League and it could be a similar story when he takes Crystal Palace to north London.

The Austrian coach enjoyed a perfect start to his career in England as the Eagles beat Burnley 3-0 at Selhurst Park last weekend.

The relegation-threatened Clarets were reduced to 10 men in the 35th minute, making Palace's task significantly easier, and Tottenham pose a far greater attacking threat.

Spurs suffered a setback in a 2-1 loss to in-form Wolves last time out but they have been strong at home under Ange Postecoglou, despite a lack of clean sheets.

The Lilywhites had won five home matches in a row before the loss to Wolves, conceding at least once in all five victories, and a 3-1 Tottenham win appeals in the correct-score market.

Publicidad

The hosts are missing influential full-backs Destiny Udogie and Pedro Porro but Palace are without England centre-back Marc Guehi and creative spark Michael Olise so Glasner could be set for another high-scoring defeat at Spurs.
