Robert Vilahamn was pleased to see his subs make an impact yesterday as Tottenham edged past Charlton to book their place in the Women's FA Cup quarter-finals.

Kit Graham climbed off the bench to score the only goal of the game against her former club at Brisbane Road.

After Spurs had twice hit the woodwork through Eveliina Summanen and Bethany England, Graham's 76th-minute effort hit the back of the net to send the hosts marching on.

The Tottenham boss, 41, told SPURSPLAY: "I speak a lot about the performances and the performance in the first half was not great from us.

"But when you have those evenings, especially in the FA Cup, you need a good squad for players to come in and help you win the game, so I'm happy with that as we are now in the quarter-finals.

"Kit scored a great goal but I think Jess [Naz] and Martha [Thomas] came in with a lot of structure for us, then Matilda [Vinberg] brought good energy and good set-pieces.

"So I think all the five of them coming on did well and you need that type of a squad because you need substitutes making a difference, which they did.

"Overall, we won the game, we have a clean sheet and scored a nice goal, so it's a good day."

With three games played in seven days, Vilahamn was delighted to pick up a win after a Conti Cup exit at the hands of Manchester City had followed a 1-1 draw with Liverpool in the Women's Super League.

He added: "You want to win every game and we haven't been able to do that this week.

"But we finished with a win and get some days off for the first time in a long time before preparing for Aston Villa next week.

"It has been three games in seven days and they have performed together, fought together and tried to do what we were talking about.

"I'm very happy with the players finding a way to win this game."
