- QPR have six defeats in their last seven games and are winless in 10
- Bristol City have picked up 10 points from seven games away from home
- Recommended bet: Bristol City to win

New Bristol City boss Liam Manning will be eyeing an away win in his first game in charge over struggling Queens Park Rangers on Saturday.

QPR sit second bottom in the Championship table with just nine points to show from 15 games, leaving them six points adrift of safety.

The West London side did at least manage to end a six-game losing run last time out with a point against Rotherham in what was Marti Cifuentes' first game in charge.

The Spaniard comes up against another new manager this weekend as former Oxford boss Manning takes charge of the Robins for the first time.

Publicidad

City come into the game after a 1-0 win over rock-bottom Sheffield Wednesday under the guidance of Curtis Fleming in interim charge.

They have been fairly good on their travels in the league, with 10 points to show from seven games. The visitors sit in 11th spot — but the play-offs are in sight and they trail Preston in sixth spot by just four points.

Team news

Cifuentes will probably largely stick with the side that claimed a point against the Millers last time out but winger Ilias Chair will miss out as he is suspended after picking up five yellow cards.

Jack Colback and Andre Dozzell are available for QPR after serving suspensions of their own.

Manning may well be tempted to stick with the same team that beat Wednesday for his first game as Bristol City manager.

The stats

QPR have lost six of their last seven games are are winless in 10.

Bristol City have won three of their seven away games this season.

All three of the Robins' away losses have come at teams above them in the table, and two of those defeats were against the current top three.

QPR have conceded 27 goals in 15 Championship games.

City won 2-0 in May in the corresponding fixture last season.

Prediction

With two new managers facing off at Loftus Road there are plenty of unknowns when it comes to predicting this fixture but based on form a victory for the away side is clearly the way to go.

Bristol City have picked up a respectable 10 points from seven games away from home and have lost just three of their seven trips.

All of their away defeats have come at teams who are currently in the top seven — including Leicester and Leeds, who were both relegated last year and sit top and third respectively.

QPR did manage to end a six-game losing run last time out with a much-needed point against Rotherham but the Robins are perhaps a level above the Millers and they will be looking to impress their new boss.

Publicidad

This will be Manning’s first game in charge after deciding to depart League One promotion hopefuls Oxford, and it looks like a great chance for the 38-year-old to begin his stint at Bristol City with a win against one of the Championship’s weaker teams.
