Klopp discusses Salah injury

Jurgen Klopp has spoken with Mohamed Salah after the forward limped out of Egypt's 2-2 Africa Cup of Nations draw with Ghana on Thursday.

The 31-year-old was substituted with an apparent hamstring issue but the Reds boss admits the extent of any possible damage remains unclear.

Klopp said: "We don't know anything about it. I spoke with him last night and how it was.

"They are doing further assessments now and then we will know more.

"At that moment he was shocked and couldn't see why he was hit by something so intense. You have these hamstring injuries in a different way.

"He felt it and we know how rarely Mo goes off, or needs to go off. So it is definitely something, but I don't have any more information right now."

Arsenal ready to attack season

Mikel Arteta's Arsenal host Crystal Palace on Saturday

Mikel Arteta has issued a rallying call to his Arsenal side ahead of their match against Crystal Palace, as they return from their winter training break.

He said: "We need to get the crowd going but they’ve been exceptional with us.

"We are recharged, super motivated. We want to attack the second half of the season, we have a lot of ambitions and understand that the team is capable of big things.

"We feel fully recharged. [The break] gave us the opportunity to look at things with perspective. We take positives from the first six months despite recent results.

"You have to look at it objectively so that you can dissect the game and understand what happened. There are things that we can improve and do better.

"Those marginal gains have to be installed and that is what we have been doing over the last few days."

Frank talk on Toney move

Ivan Toney will return for Brentford at the weekend

Thomas Frank says Ivan Toney is only focused on Brentford as transfer rumours continue to swirl ahead of the forward's return to action this weekend.

Toney, 27, will feature for the first time this season against Nottingham Forest after serving an eight-month ban for betting-related offences.

Frank said: "As I said earlier in these conferences, it's 99% that he will stay here.

"But football is crazy, you never know what will happen tomorrow.

"He's committed to helping the team. That's all that's on his mind. He wants to stay here, he wants to help the team.

Nuno prepares for difficult January

Nuno is in the midst of his first transfer window at Nottingham Forest

Nuno Espirito Santo has spoken about the difficulties of improving his Nottingham Forest squad during the January transfer window.

The Midlands club were dealt a Premier League charge for breaching Profitability and Sustainability rules earlier this week.

Nuno said: "It's very difficult. You have to realise this is a difficult window to operate in because normally the targets you really want are not available.

"This happens at all the clubs. The players who are available are the players who are not in a happy moment where they are.

"It happens to us also, the speculation of players in our squad going out because they are not happy here or some circumstances happen.

"We have to be really careful. What you want is sometimes not what you get. We have to balance the squad due to the absences and the numbers in the squad. This is the work we are doing."
