Aston Villa have won a club-record 15 consecutive Premier League home games ahead of facing Sheffield United at Villa Park this evening.

Only four other teams in the competition's history have enjoyed at least a 15-match winning run at home before, with the Villans' most recent victories coming against Manchester City and Arsenal.

We look at where Villa's current run under Unai Emery ranks among the Premier League's best.

=4. Manchester City — 15 games (January 19-November 25, 2023)

Manchester City also won 15 home games in a row in 2023

Villa can go one better than City's superb run this year if they can get the better of the Blades.

Pep Guardiola's Treble winners had won every top-flight game at the Etihad in 2023 before Liverpool held them to a 1-1 draw in November courtesy of Trent Alexander-Arnold's late strike.

3. Manchester United — 19 games (October 30, 2010-October 23, 2011)

Manchester United's 19-game winning run includes a 8-2 win over Arsenal

Back in the days when winning at Old Trafford seemed an almost impossible task for most, Manchester United almost recorded a whole year of triumphs at home.

The 19-game sequence includes the Red Devils' famous 8-2 thrashing of Arsenal but the match which ended it was arguably more memorable — a 6-1 hammering by rivals Man City.

2. Manchester City — 20 games (March 5, 2011-March 31, 2012)

Sergio Aguero's first season at Manchester City saw them win 20 straight home games

That same Man City team enjoyed a sensational home run of their own on their way to winning the title.

The Citizens broke United's previous record by beating Chelsea 2-1 at the Etihad before it came to an end with a 3-3 draw with Sunderland in March 2012.

It turned out to be the only two points they dropped at home all season and a month and a half later, Sergio Aguero sealed City's first ever Premier League crown in the most dramatic of ways against QPR.

1. Liverpool — 24 games (February 9, 2019-July 11, 2020)

Liverpool lifted the Premier League title after a 24-game run of wins at Anfield

Villa will have to win their next 10 Premier League games at home if they are to break Liverpool's astonishing effort that spans two seasons in 2019 and 2020.

The Reds were simply unstoppable at Anfield during this period, missing out on the Premier League title by one point in 2018-19 before finally clinching it the following season.
