Sheffield United to win

Norwich continue to find their feet under new manager Johannes Hoff Thorop and they face a tough examination against Sheffield United, who are showing few ill-effects from their dismal relegation from the Premier League.

The Blades have found their scoring touch quickly and will be confident they can be the first visiting Championship team to win at Carrow Road since November.

Team news

Ashley Barnes is a long-term absentee for the Canaries and Jon Rowe is unlikely to feature with a Carrow Road departure looming.

Publicidad

Blades boss Chris Wilder could keep faith with the team that drew 2-2 with QPR last week, but on-loan forward Jesurun Rak-Sakyi could be in contention for a first start.

The stats

Norwich have made a slow start under Johannes Hoff Thorup with one point from their opening two league games

Norwich have won just one of their last seven regular-season Championship matches.

The Canaries have drawn their last four games at Carrow Road.

Publicidad

Sheffield United have scored eight goals in three matches this season.

The Blades have found the net in five of their last seven away outings.

Seven of Sheffield United’s last 11 away games have featured at least three goals.

Prediction

You have to go back to Bonfire Night for the last time Norwich suffered a home defeat in the Championship, but that run could come to an end when Sheffield United visit Carrow Road on Saturday.

The Canaries’ unbeaten stretch on their own patch is 19 league games, but their last four have all finished level and they have won just one of their last seven regular-season matches, so the statistic may be a touch misleading.

Having made the play-offs last season under David Wagner, when they were outclassed 4-0 in the semi-final second leg at Leeds, City have won just one of their last seven league games and their start to the campaign has been underwhelming with a 2-0 defeat at promoted Oxford followed by a 2-2 draw against a Blackburn side who are not expected to make a huge second-tier impact this season.

The Blades, however, will be pleased with the way things have gone after a dismal season in the Premier League last term.

Having failed to compete meaningfully, it was always going to be a tough task to shake off that disappointment but they made a good start, winning at Preston on the opening night.

They will have been disappointed to have allowed a two-goal lead slip against QPR last week, but that should give them the hunger to be positive on their trip to Norfolk and United are capable of claiming a second league win of the campaign.
