Norwich City to win

Just one goal difference separates Norwich from Hull as they prepare to meet in a Championship clash.

Hull have suddenly hit form with three straight wins but will be acutely aware that fortress Carrow Road is a tough place to conquer.

Team news

Centre-back John Cordoba is Norwich's latest injury casualty, limping out of Tuesday's 1-1 draw with Leeds with a knee injury. Jack Stacey is set to replace him.

Onel Hernandez, Liam Gibbs, Jacob Sorensen, Christian Fassnacht, Ben Chrisene and Ashley Barnes are all out.

Striker Joao Pedro, Hull's 17th and final signing of the summer, could make the bench for the first time after recovering from injury.

The stats

Norwich are unbeaten at Carrow Road in 22 matches since a 3-1 loss to Blackburn 11 months ago.

The Canaries did the double over Hull last season, winning both games 2-1.

Hull City have won three Championship games in a row, scoring 10 goals in the process.

Their first five league games had produced two goals or less; the last three have produced four goals or more.

Publicidad

The Tigers have won eight points from losing positions in their first eight matches.

Prediction

New Hull boss Tim Walter said during a tricky start to the Championship season that it would take time to see his changes flourish.

Winless in their first five matches, they have now won three in a row, suggesting the German has been proved right.

However, before people get carried away by Hull's turnaround, those three wins — 3-1 at Stoke and QPR, either side of a 4-1 drubbing of Cardiff — were against teams camped in the bottom third of the division.

And, alarmingly, in those three games they allowed the opposition a combined 51 shots on their goal.

Against Cardiff they can get away with it — against Norwich they may be found out.

Norwich are also in good form, following a 4-1 win over Watford and 3-2 triumph at Derby with a hard-earned 1-1 draw at home to Leeds, still the ultimate barometer for any side in the second tier.

They led that game for 45 minutes and could have won it though will be happy to tick off a point and also extend their unbeaten streak at Carrow Road to 22 games in all competitions.

They are giving up far fewer shots on goal than Hull, boast an abundance of scoring power and can pick up three priceless points against a clearly improving away team.
