Liverpool boss Matt Beard is expecting a tough challenge against Brighton when the teams meet in the Women's Super League on Sunday.

Mikey Harris, who is in temporary charge, led the struggling Seagulls to an FA Cup fifth-round win at Wolves last weekend.

The caretaker boss will now be hoping to emulate that success in his second WSL game at the helm.

And Reds boss Beard, 46, knows it will not be a straightforward afternoon for his team, who go into Matchday 14 sitting fifth in the table.

He said: "Structurally there's obviously been a few changes in the way they're building and playing.

"I think out of possession they're a lot more organised, they're not as high risk with their pressing.

"We need to be patient on Sunday when we have the ball because structurally they build really well and defensively they're organised.

"In such a short space of time I think he's done a fantastic job and tactically it's going to be a good challenge for us."

Harris was working in the Brighton academy before stepping in when Mel Phillips was sacked at the start of the month.

It is quite a change of role but he is enjoying the challenge so far.

Speaking ahead of the clash at Broadfield Stadium, Harris said: "I am absolutely loving this experience. We have spoken about this as a club and this is an interim position.

"Certainly on a personal level it felt brilliant to win against Wolves in the FA Cup last Sunday. A win against Liverpool would be another amazing feeling."
