There is an exciting afternoon in prospect at Newbury on Friday with an eight-race card taking place.

The action runs from 1pm through until 5.05pm, with the feature race being the Listed Rose Bowl Stakes at 3.20pm.

And we have picked five horses for you to follow.

1.35pm - bet365 EBF Novice Stakes (7f)

The market will reveal plenty in regards to the sextet of newcomers in this line-up, with Dawn Of Liberation and Green Team Station notables, but the standard-setting REACH FOR THE MOON could well make it third time lucky for Team Gosden in the Royal colours.

Frankie Dettori rides Reach For The Moon in the 1.35pm at Newbury on Friday

He was clear second best in the Chesham Stakes at Royal Ascot last month, pipped late on by the exciting Ballydoyle colt Point Lonsdale, and will find this drop back into novice company in his favour under Frankie Dettori.

LiveScore Selection: Reach For The Moon

2.45pm - bet365 Fillies' Handicap (1m5f)

A 6lb penalty might not be enough to ground the ambitions of MILITARY TWO STEP here.

The Mark Johnston-trained filly was far too good for her rivals at Chester (2m, soft) last time out and this slight drop in trip should not be a barrier to further success.

All bar one of these won last time, so it is clearly a hot little race, and both Maytal and Golden Bugle are rated as major dangers.

LiveScore Selection: Military Two Step

3.20pm - IRE Incentive, It Pays To Buy Irish Rose Bowl Stakes (Listed, 6f)

Once-raced winners Detail, Oneforthegutter and Orazio are likely improvers taking a quick jump up in class, while Bosh was well in charge landing a C&D novice 15 days ago for the Richard Hannon team — his second win in three starts (2-2 at 6f) — but CATURRA is preferred.

Clive Cox's Mehmas colt won well at Bath (5f, good to soft) on second start and ran a big race since upped to this distance in the Group 2 Coventry Stakes at Royal Ascot.

That is strong form and, eased in class, Adam Kirby's mount has plenty going for him.

LiveScore Selection: Caturra

3.55pm - bet365 Handicap (1m4f)

FLYIN' SOLO failed to land the hat-trick at Windsor last time but not much went right for him in that race and it was not a bad effort by any means.

It almost certainly gave the impression this mark is within reach and he drops in class now.

With champion jockey Oisin Murphy riding for the first time, the Roderic O'Connor colt has a decent shot at defying top-weight.

LiveScore Selection: Flyin' Solo

4.30pm - IRE Incentive, It Pays To Buy Irish Handicap (1m)

Hat-trick-seeking Marselan can go well again, while St George's Bay is surely better than he showed on handicap bow at Windsor recently and may benefit from a faster surface in time.

SUNSET shaped with a good deal of promise over C&D in June and has since run a sound race dropped to 7f at Chepstow.

Richard Hannon's charge is capable of taking out a race of this ilk from his mark of 70.

LiveScore Selection: Sunset.
