There is jumps action from Carlisle on Monday afternoon, with a seven-race programme at the northern venue.

They are racing from 1pm until 4.30pm with ground conditions forecast to be 'Soft-good to soft in places on hurdle course'.

And we have picked out five to follow on the card.

1pm - racingtv.com Conditional Jockeys' Handicap Hurdle (2m3f)

A return to form is demanded but, allowing for that, these conditional riders' races can throw up some strange results.

FRIGHTENED RABBIT was in decent form in the autumn, finishing placed at Cartmel and Kelso from 5lb higher than his rating for this race.

He is now back on a winning mark and perhaps would have needed his recent run at Catterick, a first since November.

He has got potential to outrun a big price if bringing his best stuff.

1.35pm - Introducing Racing TV Novices' Limited Handicap Chase (3m2f)

Emmet Mullins has quickly earned a reputation for excellent placement of his horses, especially when the Irish handler comes to Britain.

As such, RIGHTPLACERIGHTIME could be the answer here. He was sent off favourite for a  handicap at the Dublin Racing Festival earlier in the month and beat all bar one of his 23 rivals home.

While he has got a higher UK mark to defy, he should be going very close.

2.10pm - Watch Irish Racing On Racing TV Novices' Hurdle (2m1f)

Parisencore has taken second-best in all three hurdles starts already and will hope to end that run with a positive addition to the sequence.

MASKED CRUSADER, however, was runner-up over C&D on his hurdles bow for Donald McCain and Brian Hughes, getting close to odds-on Git Maker — who had already won nicely at Chepstow in January.

That was a pleasing start and this 6YO surely can improve for the experience.

Donald McCain will be hoping to celebrate a win for Masked Crusader at Carlisle on Monday

3.20pm - Burthwaite Handicap Chase (3m2f)

Having run excellent races when he won at Hexham (3m, good to soft) and then finished second at Sedgefield (3m2½f, good) on his first two starts after joining the Sue Smith team, KAPHUMOR ran poorly at Wetherby on Boxing Day when last spotted.

That run looked too poor to be true as he was never really going and spat the dummy a long way from home.

He has had a nice break since and, at this sort of level, can offer more, so he is taken to bounce back.

4.30pm - Carlisle Racecourse Novices' Handicap Chase (2m4f)

Pitempton Power will be a contender in this finale if getting over a hefty fall at Kelso earlier in the month but perhaps SUNSET WEST can land the prize for Phil Kirby and Thomas Dawson.

He made a bold effort from the front at Ayr (3m, good to soft) on his chasing bow in November, eventually settling for a three-length third at the line.

He went over hurdles this month at Uttoxeter and raced with the choke out, ensuring he did not last home.

If he can be convinced to settle, he has got the tools to win a race such as this.
