Bruno news pleases Rangnick

Ralf Rangnick believes Bruno Fernandes extending his stay was the good news Manchester United needed ahead of tomorrow's clash with Leicester.

Fernandes signed a new four-year deal, with the option of a further 12 months, earlier today.

And Rangnick is looking forward to seeing how the positive development boosts both the Portugal playmaker, 27, and his team-mates as they resume the battle to secure a top-four finish in the Premier League.

United's interim boss said: "I think that's very good news for the club, for the fans, the supporters and also for Bruno.

"There is no doubt he is a very important player for this club and this team."

Rudi is free to talk

Antonio Rudiger could part company with Thomas Tuchel and Co this summer

Thomas Tuchel does not blame Antonio Rudiger's agent for offering the Chelsea defender to other clubs.

Rudiger, 29, is out of contract at the end of the season and has been heavily linked with Barcelona in recent days.

Tuchel wants to keep the German centre-back at Stamford Bridge but the club's hands are tied until new owners are in place.

The Blues boss said: "I would try to meet him [Rudiger] if I were any other club.

"He's our player and I still think we have a good chance he stays our player once things are solved for us.

"The situation is the situation at the moment. Our hands are tied, we cannot speak to him and negotiate or renegotiate.

"So it is fair enough if he listens to other offers. That is the way things go but I'm still confident."

Time to move on?

Antonio Conte is not convinced by Steven Bergwijn

Antonio Conte has hinted that Steven Bergwijn must raise his game if he wants to stay at Tottenham.

The Dutch attacker, 24, was linked with Ajax back in January and is expected to be the subject of renewed transfer speculation come the end of the season.

And Conte does not appear to be too disappointed by the prospect of losing the former PSV Eindhoven ace.

The Italian said: "He needs to believe in himself more. He needs to continue to work with and without the ball and help the team in every moment.

"Football is a team game and you have to be ready to help the team in every moment."

Winning is all we care about

Jurgen Klopp is concerned with getting three points against Watford and nothing else

Jurgen Klopp insists his Liverpool players NEVER focus on where they are in the table.

The Reds head into tomorrow's lunchtime showdown with struggling Watford knowing that three points could see them end the weekend above Manchester City if the league leaders fail to win at Burnley.

But all Klopp and Co are thinking about is winning against the Hornets at Anfield.

He said: "If you don't find momentum, all the teams can hit you with set-pieces, counters and these types of things.

"The good thing is my team never care about their league position. They listen to me. I am honest in meetings and don't make a team sound stronger or weaker than they are.

"Whatever they think about us, we need to surprise them [Watford] with intensity and positivity.

"It not an easy weekend for us or for City. Burnley is the last place you want to go."

We Vill claw back some points

Steven Gerrard has urged Aston Villa to get back to winning ways after suffering back-to-back defeats prior to the international break.

Villa head to Midlands rivals Wolves tomorrow desperate to stop the rot from setting in.

And Gerrard is confident they can start to close the gap on Bruno Lage's men, who are 10 points ahead of them in the table.

The Villans boss said: "It’s a big game for us. We know it’s going to be a tough challenge.

"They have been more consistent than us during the league campaign so far.

"This is a huge derby for us, we want games to have that extra buzz and special edge, so we want to give a performance that represents our support in a right way.

"Everyone needs to be obsessed with moving this club forward, that’s the way we want to be."
