Lincoln produced a stirring comeback to win 4-3 at League One rivals Crawley and book their place in the third round of the FA Cup.

The Red Devils opened up a 2-0 lead inside 13 minutes following goals from Jack Roles and Tola Showumni, but Lincoln responded with efforts from Paudie O’Connor, Jovon Makama, Erik Ring and Jack Moylan.

Jeremy Kelly’s late strike set up a nervy finish, but the Imps held on.

Roles opened the scoring in the 11th minute from close range from Ade Adeyemo’s cross before Showunmi cashed in on a defensive mistake to give keeper George Wickens no chance with a cool finish shortly after.

Crawley were punished for not clearing their lines as Lincoln reduced the deficit after 20 minutes with captain O’Connor heading in from eight yards.

Makama made it 2-2 six minutes before the break by heading in a cross by Tendayi Darikwa.

Lincoln seized control by scoring twice inside a minute at the start of the second half.

Ring put them ahead by rifling a shot in off the underside the bar in front of the travelling supporters and then Moylan scored from close range.

Kelly fired in from the edge of the area eight minutes from time, but it proved in vain.
