Leila Ouahabi believes Manchester City can compete for "every trophy" in 2023-24.

The defender, 30, joined the Citizens last summer from Barcelona, where she won 15 major honours — including the Women's Champions League in 2020-21.

Ouahabi's maiden campaign with City saw her make 23 appearances in all competitions, with Gareth Taylor's side narrowly missing out on European qualification as they finished behind Arsenal on goal difference in the Women's Super League table.

On her aspirations for the upcoming campaign, the Spain international said: "We want to finish as high up as possible, improve on last season, to be fighting for every trophy available and to qualify for the Champions League.

"I'm feeling very good, much better.

"I almost feel like I'm from here and I've adapted to the weather!

Leila Ouahabi will be a key player for Manchester City in the 2023-24 campaign

City begin their 2023-24 WSL campaign with a trip to West Ham on October 1 before hosting champions Chelsea the following weekend.

And Ouahabi believes the team's positive pre-season preparations — which included a 3-2 win over Bristol City last Saturday — could prove vital in the early fixtures.

She added: "It's going very well! We're working very hard. This has been a very complete pre-season with very positive feelings. The truth is that the team are working very well.

"This stage of pre-season is very important in connecting with the other players and connecting with our style of play we want to play.

"[West Ham and Chelsea] are matches that will be highly competitive and it's going to be very important for us to start well."
