Sky Bet League Two bottom club Morecambe sealed their third successive share of the spoils as they drew 1-1 with Notts County at the Mazuma Stadium.

Derek Adams’ side took the lead after just two minutes. Adam Lewis swung in a corner that travelled across the six-yard box before Lee Angol bundled the ball over the line at the far post to give the home side the perfect start.

The Magpies looked to hit back with David McGoldrick heading over from close range before the Shrimps went close again when Callum Jones fizzed a 20-yard drive inches wide of the right-hand post.

Jordan Slew shot straight at Alex Bass in first-half stoppage time after creating space for himself.

The visitors were more direct in the second half with Nick Tsaroulla curling a shot just wide and George Abbott forcing a superb low save from Stuart Moore before the Shrimps’ resistance was broken in the 80th minute. Sam Austin delivered a dangerous cross into the area and Matty Platt delivered the final touch to score from close range.

Morecambe thought they had won it in the final minute when Jamie Stott’s effort was cleared by McGoldrick with the Shrimps convinced the ball had crossed the line.

The referee waved the pleas away and Kayden Harrack was given a second yellow card for his protests as he was sent off for the second time this season.
