Harry Kane insists Bayern Munich will be ready for next weekend's huge Bundesliga title clash with Bayer Leverkusen.

The England captain scored his 24th league goal of the campaign — which saw him equal the best tally of any Bayern player in their first season — in a 3-1 win over Borussia Monchengladbach.

Leverkusen, meanwhile, won 2-0 at Darmstadt to maintain their two-point lead at the top.

Ex-Tottenham striker Kane, 30, said: "We know Saturday, it'll be a really tough test.

"They [Leverkusen] are a good side and play good football but as always football is about more than that.

"You have to fight, show some courage and passion. And that's what we'll do."

Kane also has his sights set on breaking the record for most goals in a Bundesliga season, with Robert Lewandowski's 41 in 2020-21 the number to beat.

He added: "Of course, if I keep going the way I am, it's a possibility.

"I'm feeling good and it was nice to score again today but there's a long way to go and the most important thing is we're winning games."

Bayern manager Thomas Tuchel also turned his attention towards the trip to Leverkusen.

The former Chelsea boss said: "Leverkusen are playing an outstanding season but we've got just two points fewer.

"We'll travel to Leverkusen with a clear goal — to inflict a first defeat of the season on them and to overtake them.

"Both teams will try and play, try and press. And whoever does it better will come out on top."
