Solanke signs new deal

Bournemouth striker Dominic Solanke has signed a new four-year contract with the club.

The English forward, who turns 26 today, is embarking on his fifth full season with the Cherries after signing from Liverpool in January 2019.

He has scored 58 goals in 179 appearances, spearheading the South Coast outfit to promotion to the Premier League in 2021-22 before helping them maintain their top-flight status last term.

Bournemouth CEO Neill Blake said: "We're thrilled to have someone with such calibre as Dom commit his future to the club having already enjoyed many successful moments together.

He fell out with manager Steve Cooper in the final weeks of last season after reacting badly to being excluded against former club Liverpool.

The Welsh boss insisted there was no rift between the two but he has not featured since and he will now look to rebuild his career with the fifth-placed Super Lig club.

Gunners CEO to step down

Vinai Venkatesham will leave Arsenal at the end of the season

Arsenal CEO Vinai Venkatesham will step down next summer after 14 years with the club.

Venkatesham has been with the Gunners since 2010, first joining as head of global partnerships before serving as their chief executive for the last three years.

He said: "This was a tough decision, but it is time to pursue another challenge. Now is not the time for goodbyes as I remain focused until my last day and supporting a seamless transition."

Arsenal co-chair Josh Kroenke added: "The board is fully supportive of Vinai's desire to pursue his next challenge.

"Whilst it is business as usual with everyone focused on the season ahead, we'd like to take this moment to thank him for his contribution and long service.

"Vinai will always be part of the Arsenal family and always welcome back at Emirates Stadium."

At least two regular season NFL games will continue to be played at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, making it the league's UK home.

The 62,850-seater stadium will host two of the NFL's five international games this season, with one taking place at Wembley and two at Frankfurt's Deutsche Bank Park.

Spurs chairman Daniel Levy said: "Our partnership with the NFL has been integral to our wider vision for the stadium and delivering a sports and entertainment destination in London.

"NFL gamedays at our stadium are special occasions where we see fans from around the world descend on Tottenham, bringing so much vibrancy to the High Road and supporting our local economy.

"As the NFL continues to grow its fanbase throughout Europe, we are extremely proud to be given official status as the home of the NFL in the UK and look forward to seeing the excitement that gamedays bring to Tottenham for many more years to come."

We're Garner show you

James Garner has started all four of Everton's Premier League games this season

James Garner believes Everton have had a good start to the season despite picking up just one point from their first four Premier League games.

Midfielder Garner, 22, has started all four outings, with the Toffees suffering successive defeats to Fulham, Aston Villa and Wolves before picking up a point in a 2-2 draw at Sheffield United.

But the former Manchester United youngster thinks their lack of points on the board is not reflective of the overall positive performances they have been putting in under Sean Dyche.

He told BBC Sport: "This season, it has not shown in terms of points that we have had a good start, but in our performances against three teams — with the blip against Aston Villa — we created a hell of a lot of chances.

"It is just about putting them away. We have to remain positive, don't get too down and stay patient, it will come.

"Our squad is definitely strong enough to be middle to top half of the table, that is what I believe."

Jakub Kiwior has made two league appearances for Arsenal this term

Polish defender Jakub Kiwior is loving life under Mikel Arteta at Arsenal

The 23-year-old arrived in North London from Spezia in January and his role with the Gunners is slowly growing, making his first start of the season against Fulham last month.

And the centre-back believes he is learning more and more every day as he fights with William Saliba, Gabriel Magalhaes and Ben White for a place in Arteta's XI.

On life under the Spaniard, Kiwior told Sky Sports: "I'm going to say what all the other players say — that the relationship and co-operation is extremely good and his tactics as well.

"He is able to convey what he means very well. Even if I wanted to say something negative, there is nothing negative to say.

"I was quite surprised that something like this was even possible, that a coach could come up with these concepts to shape our attitude to the game through all sorts of competitions and challenges to focus our minds."
