Carra criticism

Jamie Carragher believes Andre Onana would never feature for Manchester United's first team again if he was a youth team prospect.

Cameroonian keeper Onana, 27, continued his shaky first season with the Red Devils when conceding yet more soft goals during a costly 3-3 Champions League draw with Galatasaray on Wednesday.

United are now staring at an early exit from Europe's premier competition and ex-Liverpool defender Carragher has delivered a scathing assessment of the stopper's woes.

Writing in his Telegraph column, Carragher said: "The performance in Turkiye was unacceptable for a Manchester United goalkeeper.

"You would not expect an Under-18s keeper to make the basic handling error for Galatasaray's second goal.

"If a youth keeper was promoted and played like Onana on Wednesday evening, he would probably never feature for the first team again.

"The hope that the worst was behind him after a poor start to his Old Trafford career has been blown out of the water and Wednesday was a huge step backwards."

Mou miffed

Jose Mourinho accused his Roma players of taking a "superficial approach" after being held by Servette in the Europa League.

The Italians were forced to settle for a surprising 1-1 draw in Switzerland which means unless results go their way in the final round of matches, they will finish second in Group G behind Slavia Prague.

Mourinho's men would therefore face a knockout play-off with a side dropping into the competition from the Champions League and the Portuguese coach was not impressed by the attitude of some of his players.

He said: "It seems that some people who don't have much European experience play these games somewhat superficially.

"I really don't understand. I've played 150 matches in the Champions League that are much more 'important' than this and my motivation for these matches is sky-high.

"It's always the same lads who stay focused for 90 minutes and I don't need to name them. Then there are people who have a bit of a superficial approach in this type of game."

adidas have unveiled a new Ian Wright-inspired collection

Arsenal and adidas have teamed up to launch a new clothing collection inspired by Gunners legend Ian Wright.

Former striker Wright, who turned 60 last month, sees some of his greatest moments weaved into the range, which includes a pre-match jersey and a reversable anthem jacket.

Other club icons such as David Seaman, Kelly Smith and David Rocastle feature on the hand-crafted designs, available to purchase from Arsenal Direct, adidas.com, in adidas stores and at Arsenal's official club store.
