There are five Premier League matches scheduled on Saturday, the highlight being an intriguing London derby between West Ham and title hopefuls Arsenal at the London Stadium.
Brentford vs Leicester (Saturday, 3pm)
Brentford have won five of their six home league matches this season, drawing the other, with goals being a regular feature of those games, with a total of 29 having been scored.
Over 3.5 goals have been scored in five of Brentford’s six Premier League home games, while the same selection has also landed in half of Leicester’s last six matches.
Crystal Palace vs Newcastle (Saturday, 3pm)
It could be argued that both of these sides rode their luck in the last round of fixtures – Newcastle were split open regularly by West Ham while Crystal Palace gave up 3.0 expected goals to Aston Villa – and two shaky defences meeting at Selhurst Park could result in a goalfest, especially with the attacking talent on show.
Four of Newcastle’s last five away games have gone over 2.5 goals and with the same bet landing in three of Palace’s four matches, it could pay to back the same selection this time around.
Nottingham Forest vs Ipswich (Saturday, 3pm)
Ipswich have taken five points from their last three games and can wrap up an unbeaten November by drawing with Nottingham Forest at the City Ground.
While Town look like a team on the up, Forest are struggling to live up the standards set in the early months of the campaign.
The Tricky Trees were uncompetitive in last Saturday’s 3-0 loss at Arsenal and they may lack the necessary guile to force a victory this weekend.
Wolves vs Bournemouth (Saturday, 3pm)
There is a brighter mood of optimism at Wolves following much-needed successive wins and the manner of their 4-1 triumph at Fulham last weekend suggests they are good enough to avoid a relegation scrap over the winter and next spring.
Bournemouth have been inconsistent for much of the campaign, but there have been several stand-out moments with the home wins over last season's top two – Arsenal and Manchester City – particularly impressive.
Andoni Iraola's men have since suffered demoralising defeats against Brentford and Brighton and they are facing a Wolves side at a bad time after their recent upturn.
West Ham vs Arsenal (Saturday, 5.30pm)
Arsenal are in much better shape heading into their trip to London rivals West Ham after two much-needed victories in the past week.
Mikel Arteta's side are nine points behind leaders Liverpool and know if they want to be involved in the title race again this season they must end a run of four away games without a win by beating the Hammers, who turned in a much-improved display themselves on Monday when winning 2-0 at Newcastle.
Expect the hosts to play their part, but Arsenal look to have their mojo back after two convincing victories.
