The Championship returns from the international break with the 10th round of fixtures featuring games on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

Leeds vs Sheffield United (Friday, 8pm)

A Yorkshire derby opens the Championship's return and both Leeds and Sheffield United could finish the evening at the top of the table.

Leeds are fifth on 16 points with a +8 goal difference, three points behind the Blades, who are second, tied alongside Sunderland on 19 points but have a worse goal difference than the Mackems' +10.

A single goal has separated the last six meetings and the hosts could end the South Yorkshire club's unbeaten start with a narrow win.

Score prediction: Leeds 1-0 Sheffield United

Cardiff vs Plymouth Argyle (Saturday, 12.30pm)

Bottom club Cardiff steadied the ship with a 1-0 win over Millwall and 1-1 at Bristol City but the board still seem reluctant to appoint popular interim boss Omer Riza permanently.

Opposite number Wayne Rooney has recovered from a tough start, guiding his team to three wins in their last five, however, those victories have all been at home and this looks like a good chance for another Cardiff win.

Score prediction: Cardiff 1-0 Plymouth

Luton Town vs Watford (Saturday, 12.30pm)

Luton have struggled since returning to the Championship after an unsuccessful, albeit encouraging, season in the Premier League, failing to win their last three and next they face local rivals Watford.

Publicidad

The Hornets have won two of their last three, but have succeeded in just one of their four on the road this season and the Hatters could pounce.

Score prediction: Luton 2-1 Watford

Luton are still adapting to life back in the Championship

Oxford United vs West Brom (Saturday, 12.30pm)

Oxford's three wins this season have all come at the Kassam Stadium, while Saturday's visitors West Brom are still to win away. The Baggies are without a victory in three and the U's could punish them.

Score prediction: Oxford 1-0 West Brom

Preston North End vs Coventry City (Saturday, 12.30pm)

Paul Heckingbottom has undoubtedly improved Preston and they can beat Coventry.

The Sky Blues tend to start seasons slowly and have taken just two points from 12 available on the road and the Lilywhites have a chance to grab a third home victory of the campaign.

Score prediction: Preston 2-0 Coventry

Blackburn Rovers vs Swansea City (Saturday, 3pm)

Blackburn were unbeaten in their first seven before back-to-back defeats heading into the break, but they could be too good for Swansea.

Publicidad

The Swans play with style but lack penetration and John Eustace's resourceful Rovers can return to winning ways.

Score prediction: Blackburn 2-0 Swansea

Blackburn boss John Eustace has enjoyed a strong start to the season

Middlesbrough vs Bristol City (Saturday, 3pm)

Middlesbrough's two-game winning run was ended at Watford before the break, but they can respond against draw specialist Bristol City.

The Robins have taken a point from each of their last three games, however, Boro are unbeaten at home and are generally strong at the Riverside.

Score prediction: Middlesbrough 2-0 Bristol City

Millwall vs Derby County (Saturday, 3pm)

Derby lost three in a row before beating QPR before the break and have lost all four of their away games.

That will encourage Millwall, who drew at West Brom last time out and who have beaten Sheffield Wednesday and Preston on their own patch, scoring three times in each game.

Score prediction: Millwall 3-1 Derby

QPR vs Portsmouth (Saturday, 3pm)

QPR are without a victory in six but Portsmouth are the perfect opponents. Pompey are yet to win since returning to the Championship and look to be lacking in inspiration.

Publicidad

Score prediction: QPR 3-1 Portsmouth

Burnley boss Scott Parker takes his side across the Pennines to face Sheffield Wednesday

Sheffield Wednesday vs Burnley (Saturday, 3pm)

Sheffield Wednesday have lost just one of their last six but could come unstuck against visitors Burnley.

The Clarets are unbeaten in six and after keeping three clean sheets in a row, could record another shutout.

Score prediction: Sheffield Wednesday 0-1 Burnley

Stoke City vs Norwich City (Saturday, 3pm)

After a tough start, new Stoke boss Narcis Pelach looks to be getting his message across but his side may struggle against Norwich.

The Canaries made a poor start under Johannes Hoff Thorup, but were unbeaten in their four games before the break, boasting a winning aggregate of 12-4, so they can strike again.

Score prediction: Stoke 1-3 Norwich

Hull City vs Sunderland (Sunday, 3pm)

Hull's revival was scuppered by their 4-0 defeat at Norwich, but they had won three in a row before that and could respond against leaders Sunderland, who have lost their last two on the road, although they have scored in both.

Publicidad

Score prediction: Hull 2-1 Sunderland
