After a stop-start feel to the Premier League due to three international breaks, the momentum should build from Gameweek 13 as the busy festive period starts to near.

Three gameweeks will take place in just eight days and that should be music to the ears of fantasy football players around the world.

Gamweek 13 starts on Friday, and we have picked out five players that should be considered in the coming days.

Matz Sels, Nottingham Forest (Goalkeeper)

Despite Saturday's 3-0 defeat to Arsenal, Nottingham Forest have still enjoyed a superb first 12 games of the Premier League campaign.

Nuno Espirito Santo's men are seventh in the table, only three points behind the Gunners, and they should be able to bounce back against Ipswich on Saturday.

Goalkeeper Matz Sels has kept four clean sheets so far this season and he faces an Ipswich side that have only won once on the road.

Forest have kept two clean sheets in their last three at home and Sels has every chance of adding to his clean-sheet tally.

Jan Paul van Hecke, Brighton (Defender)

Jan Paul van Hecke is expected to start for Brighton against Southampton

Brighton's clash with Southampton on Friday gets Gameweek 13 underway and Jan Paul van Hecke should once again start for the Seagulls.

The centre-back is practically guaranteed 90 minutes of action when fit, and he faces a Saints side that have the worst away record in the Premier League.

Russell Martin's men have only scored three times on their travels, so Brighton will expect to record a shutout this week.

Mohamed Salah, Liverpool (Midfielder)

Only Erling Haaland has scored more Premier League goals than Mohamed Salah ahead of Liverpool's clash with Manchester City at Anfield on Sunday.

City are now eight points behind their title rivals and Salah will relish taking on Pep Guardiola's team, who have conceded 14 goals in their recent defeats to Tottenham, Bournemouth, Sporting Lisbon, and Brighton in all competitions.

Salah has scored in five consecutive games in the league, and with the way City are defending, that record could be about to improve.

Joao Pedro, Brighton (Forward)

Seagulls ace Joao Pedro returned to fitness in style against Manchester City in Gameweek 11, grabbing a goal and an assist in just 25 minutes of action.

He repeated that return in the 2-1 win over Bournemouth on Saturday, managing just over an hour on the field.

With Southampton in town this week, Pedro can continue his rich vein of form against the second-worst defence in the league.

Matheus Cunha, Wolves (Forward)

Wolves have found some form in recent weeks, and Matheus Cunha's efforts have undoubtedly helped their cause.

Gary O'Neil's side are unbeaten in four in the Premier League, securing 2-2 draws against Brighton and Crystal Palace, before beating Southampton 2-0 and Fulham 4-1.

Publicidad

Cunha has recorded four goals and three assists during that run and he should be able to push on against Bournemouth this weekend.

The Cherries have only won once on the road, shipping 11 goals in six away games.
