Dominic Solanke set his sights on breaking into Gareth Southgate's England team after continuing his fine goalscoring form in Bournemouth's 1-1 draw with West Ham.

The striker took advantage of debutant Kalvin Phillips' error to net his 13th Premier League goal of the season inside three minutes at the London Stadium.

His effort was cancelled out by James Ward-Prowse's penalty just after the hour mark but Solanke was delighted to give Three Lions assistant boss Steve Holland food for thought up in the stands.

The former Liverpool ace, 26, told TNT Sports: "Everyone wants to play for England. I think that's everyone's dream.

"Like I say, everyone wants to be there but I think it's just about carrying on doing what I'm doing for the club, scoring as many goals as I can.

"There's another camp soon and I'll just keep doing what I'm doing and hopefully I'll be there."

Fellow goalscorer Ward-Prowse, 29, is also knocking on Southgate's door having missed out on recent England squads.

But the 11-cap international was more coy on his international hopes. Asked whether he will be involved in next month's friendlies with Brazil and Belgium, the Hammers ace said: "We'll see about that one!"

A lacklustre first-half display saw West Ham miss a host of chances to double their lead.

The performance was far from what boss David Moyes wanted but the draw ensured his side maintained their grasp on sixth place in the Premier League table.

James Ward-Prowse's penalty earned a point for West Ham

Moyes, 60, told BBC Match of the Day: "I'm glad we got the point in the end. We didn't perform well.

"Anyway, we got something out of it and we take that and we'll hopefully improve.

"It was really good work from Mohammed Kudus to earn the penalty. And James has done well for us.

"We didn't play particularly well with the ball, we didn't pass it well."
