Both teams to score

Bristol City will not be daunted by the visit of Leeds, having avoided defeat in each of their last six games and also in their five most recent home matches.

Leeds’ win at Watford on Tuesday extended their unbeaten record to six matches, with the last four of those opponents sitting within the top nine positions in the Championship.

Team news

Bristol City will be without their manager Liam Manning, as his period of leave continues following the tragic death of his son, with assistant boss Chris Hogg taking charge again.

Cameron Pring, Rob Dickie, Robert Atkinson and Ayman Benarous all look set to be missing for the Robins with injuries, while Joe Williams is suspended.

Leeds have Junior Firpo missing through suspension following his booking in the win against Watford this week, while Max Wober, Ethan Ampadu and Ilia Gruev are all injured.

The stats

Chris Hogg will continue to lead Bristol City with Liam Manning on compassionate leave

Though Bristol City have only lost twice in the Champions this season, they are 10th in the table, having drawn six of their 11 games, which is more than any other side.

Publicidad

Leeds have scored twice in each of their last three games, drawing 2-2 at the Championship leaders Sunderland, before beating promotion hopefuls Sheffield United 2-0 and Watford 2-1 at Elland Road.

Bristol City have won two and drawn three of their last five home games, with both teams scoring in four of those matches.

Leeds are unbeaten in their five away games this season, winning twice and drawing three times.

Prediction

Leeds’ early kick off gives them the opportunity to at least temporarily move to the top of the Championship, with a win at Bristol City.

That promises to be a tough ask, with the hosts having proved themselves to be a difficult side to beat, even at a time when their manager is absent on compassionate leave.

Though four of the teams that the Robins have faced during their six-match unbeaten streak are in the bottom-half of the table, the two games they have won, both came against top-half sides, catching the eye with a 2-0 win at Middlesbrough last weekend.

Leeds’ results have also been noticeable of late, with Daniel Farke’s team having seemingly clicked, following a difficult start to the season.

They have the quality to win a third game on the bounce, but with Bristol City not to be underestimated, goals look easier to predict than the result.
