- Manchester City are aiming to build on Saturday's 8-0 rout of Salford in the FA Cup
- Recommended bet: 2-2 correct score

Manchester City fans will be hoping their side's crisis is over after back-to-back Premier League wins over Leicester and West Ham were followed by an 8-0 FA Cup drubbing of League Two Salford.

However, the Citizens have endured a miserable run of results on the road and they face an awkward trip to Brentford, who have a fine home record this season.

The Bees suffered a shock weekend cup defeat at home to Plymouth, the Championship's bottom club, but they should be fired up for their clash with the champions.

Team news

Brentford are missing the injured Aaron Hickey, Igor Thiago, Gustavo Nunes, Josh Dasilva, Ethan Pinnock and Kristoffer Ajer.

Ben Mee and Ryan Trevitt are closing in on a return to action but may not be risked on Tuesday.

Manchester City are missing injured defenders Ruben Dias and John Stones. Rodri and Oscar Bobb remain sidelined but Pep Guardiola rested most of his first-team regulars for the FA Cup win over Salford.

The stats

Six of Brentford's last seven Premier League home games have produced over 3.5 goals

The Bees have won seven of their 10 home league fixtures this term

Publicidad

Both teams have scored in only one of Brentford's last five games in all competitions

Manchester City have won one of their last nine away matches in all competitions

City have conceded the first goal in five of their last seven away league fixtures

Both teams have scored in five of the Citizens' last six league matches

Prediction

Manchester City have shown signs of emerging from their recent slump

Brentford manager Thomas Frank and Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola both named second-string starting line-ups for their weekend FA Cup ties – with contrasting consequences.

While the Bees' fringe players limped to a 1-0 defeat against second-tier strugglers Plymouth, City's reserves put eight goals past Salford.

That followed a 4-1 home win over West Ham in the league but the Citizens look too short to extend their winning run at Brentford, who have won seven of their 10 home league matches this season.

The Bees, inspired by forwards Bryan Mbeumo and Yoane Wissa, have scored 27 goals in those 10 home games and should cause problems for a depleted City defence.

Guardiola's men have kept only one clean sheet in their last nine away league fixtures, in last month's 2-0 win at Leicester, who hit the woodwork twice.

City had lost four of their previous five games on the road before their victory against the Foxes and the exception was a 2-2 draw at Crystal Palace – an outcome that appeals in the correct-score market again.
