Blackburn are plunging like a stone towards the Championship relegation zone where Huddersfield have been a fixture from pretty much the get-go this season.

Rovers, who are without a league win in over a month, are 7/10 with LiveScore Bet to stop the bleeding by seeing off Darren Moore’s Huddersfield.

Moore, under pressure from above at Leeds Road, can take heart from the fact that Town’s last win was against Blackburn on Boxing Day, a comprehensive 3-0 triumph.

Team news

Left-back Harry Pickering and 19-goal top scorer Sammie Szmodics are expected to return for Blackburn after illness ruled them out of last week’s dismal 4-1 loss at West Brom.

Huddersfield had 13 players unavailable against Plymouth last weekend, including their newest recruit, Serbian striker Bojan Radulovic, who had a groin problem.

The stats

Jon Dahl Tomasson’s Rovers have taken just one point from their last possible 18, and have failed to keep a clean sheet in their last 12 league and cup matches.

Last week’s 4-1 loss at West Brom was the tenth time this season they have conceded three or more goals in a match.

They now boast the worst defensive record in the Championship with 52 goals leaked, one more than Rotherham.

Only six of the 31 matches played by Blackburn this season have produced two goals or less.

Publicidad

Only QPR, with eight, have lost more home matches than Blackburn this season.

Huddersfield are without a win in four all competitions since a 3-0 win over Blackburn on Boxing Day.

Only bottom club Rotherham have won fewer games than Town.

Sammie Szmodics is closing in on 20 goals this season for Blackburn and is set to return this weekend

Prediction

The pressure is on rivals bosses Tomasson and Moore though the Dane may well be sitting prettier after this.

Rovers have spiralled down the Championship standings and are far too inconsistent for their own good. They’ve won as many as sixth-placed Coventry, lost as many as bottom-placed Rotherham.

What they haven’t stopped doing, even during their current rocky run, is scoring goals and the return of top scorer Sammie Szmodics from a bug should give them the added firepower that will help the home side get the better of Huddersfield.

Town have won only five times this term and Moore is feeling the heat after owner Kevin Nagle laid into the team after last week’s gloomy 1-1 draw with Plymouth.

Confidence at the John Smith’s Stadium is fragile at best so if you fancy Blackburn, ignore the 90-minute odds-on quote and take them to win in a match featuring over 1.5 goals.

Just four of the 31 matches they have played this term have produced under two goals.
