Blackburn vs Leeds predictions: Whites to extend unbeaten run
- Leeds are third, seven points behind Ipswich in second
- Blackburn are seventh
- Recommended bet: Leeds to win and both teams to score
In-form Leeds will be aiming to extend their unbeaten run to seven games when they go to Blackburn in Saturday's lunchtime Championship clash.
The Whites are third after a run of eight wins in their last 10 league games and they will be confident of getting another three points against a Rovers side who lost 3-1 at bottom-of-the-table Sheffield Wednesday last weekend.
Team news
Blackburn boss Jon Dahl Tomasson will serve a one-match touchline ban following his sending-off against Sheffield Wednesday.
Rovers have several players still in the treatment room with Tyrhys Dolan (knee) and Joe Rankin-Costello (hamstring) not expected back until the new year.
This game also looks set to come too soon for Dominic Hyam, Aynsley Pears, Ryan Hedges and Sam Gallagher, as they all continue to recover from various injuries.
Junior Firpo is a major doubt for Leeds with a muscle problem, while Stuart Dallas remains absent with his hip injury.
Luke Ayling and Djed Spence are among the players hoping to feature at some point for the visitors, although the best the duo can probably hope for is a place on the bench.
The stats
Both teams have scored in four of Leeds' last five games.
There have also been goals at both ends in four of Blackburn's last five matches.
Blackburn have lost five times at home in the league this season, with only Millwall (six) losing more at home in the division so far.
Blackburn's Sammie Szmodics is the top scorer in the Championship with 14 goals.
Crysencio Summerville is Leeds' leading scorer with eight goals.
Prediction
Leeds are putting pressure on the top two in the Championship, Ipswich and Leicester, after going on a fine unbeaten run over their last six games.
Daniel Farke's side are still seven points behind second-placed Town, but, after winning eight of their last 10, they are displaying promotion form at the start of December.
And with five games still to come this month after this trip to Ewood Park, Leeds are well-placed should either of the top two slip up in the lead-up to and during the busy festive period.
They can extend their great form with victory over Rovers, although it could be another closely-fought clash in the same manner as several of Leeds' recent games.
In their last four matches, the Yorkshire giants have beaten Plymouth and Middlesbrough by a single goal, while they won 3-1 at Swansea after falling behind early on and were held to a 1-1 draw by struggling Rotherham.
Leeds have only kept two clean sheets in their last 10 games to suggest the hosts will be able to at least get on the scoresheet at Ewood Park.
Tomasson's side have scored in each of their last five games and only four teams in the second tier have bagged more than their tally of 32 so far this term.
