Aggie Beever-Jones has hit a hot streak for Chelsea.

The striker scored in the Blues' 5-1 rout of Liverpool last weekend to help solidify their place at the top of the Women's Super League.

It took her tally to four top-flight goals this season — one in each of her past four outings.

Ahead of today's clash with Leicester, we investigate Beever-Jones' impressive impact for the league leaders.

Loan lessons

Beever-Jones is no stranger to the Women's Super League having spent 2022-23 on loan at Everton.

The 20-year-old featured 16 times for the Toffees and scored two league goals — a total she has already trebled this term.

And Chelsea boss Emma Hayes believes the forward's loan spell was crucial to her development.

She said: "Aggie went away an academy player on loan, but came back a player for the first team.

"It speaks to young players that when you sign a contract, there is a path.

"That path may involve multiple loans over multiple years — and Aggie went to Everton and Bristol, she has journeyed to get here — but I think that means she is more ready."

Beever-Jones is certainly demonstrating that this season.

Chelsea's No33 has shown great awareness of space inside the box and an ability to finish with both feet, as well as in the air.

That was evidenced by her goal against Liverpool, as she headed home Lauren James' pinpoint cross when unmarked at the back post.

Those qualities see Beever-Jones lead the WSL for goals per 90 minutes (2.86) from only 3.57 shots on target per 90 — indicating just how clinical she has been this term.

Wiegman's vow

Beever-Jones' performances for the Blues have already put England head coach Sarina Wiegman on notice.

Despite missing out on a call-up for the Lionesses' final two Nations League fixtures, the Dutch tactician had words of encouragement for Chelsea's in-form forward.

She said: "She [Beever-Jones] is in our conversations. I think it's a little bit too early.

"We see good things. She's in the Under-23s and it's good she can get the minutes there and keep developing.

"I hope she keeps improving and gives us headaches with our selection."

Pressure makes diamonds

There is plenty of competition for places in Chelsea's frontline.

But manager Hayes believes training among the best has helped Beever-Jones raise her game.

She said: "I think she [Beever-Jones] has work to do still. For example, knowing when to go it alone in situations or when to link with others. But she's such a good learner.

"She is unbelievably efficient in front of goal. The chances she's got, she's taken really well.

"There's a competition with her and Sam Kerr on a daily basis. That's fun to see because they're driving standards for each other."

Beever-Jones has only started one league game to date in 2023-24.

But it will become impossible to avoid giving the attacker more minutes if she continues finding the net at such a remarkable rate.
