Wimbledon will play host to its famous Manic Monday today for the final time — with all 32 remaining singles stars taking to the courts.

The tradition, which sees every fourth-round clash from the men’s and women’s singles draws played on the same jam-packed day, will be scrapped from 2022.

Play will instead be spread across the middle Sunday — traditionally a rest day — meaning that fans attending SW19 today will be part of tennis’ busiest day for the final time.

Djokovic too good for gutsy Garin

Men’s world No1 Djokovic ensured there would be no great upset on Centre Court as he dismissed plucky Cristian Garin in straight sets.

The 34-year-old Serb, who is searching for his sixth Wimbledon title, had won nine straight sets coming into the contest and added another three to his streak against the Chilean, who went down fighting 6-2 6-4 6-2.

Garin, 25, was particularly competitive in the second set but simply couldn't live with the ultra-impressive Djokovic, who looks in imperious form and is now only three wins from the title.

Federer eases through against Sonego

Roger Federer progressed through to the Quarter Final stage thanks to a straight set victory over Italian Lorenzo Sonego.

This Swiss, who is seeking a ninth Wimbledon title, won 7-5 6-4 6-2 and will face either Daniil Medvedev or Hubert Hurkacz in the next round after their match was suspended in the fifth set due to the British weather.

"I felt after the first set I controlled things." said Federer, 39. "I couldn’t be more excited to be in the quarters, it’s a big moment.”

Barty brings best to cut down Krejcikova

Women's world No1 Ash Barty emerged victorious in the battle of French Open champions, with the Australian overcoming last month's Roland Garros heroine Barbora Krejcikova in straight sets.

Barty, 25, had to be at her very best in a tight first set before showing her class late on to dismiss Krejcikova 7-5 6-3 and establish herself as a strong favourite to make at least the semi-final stage.

Raducanu's Wimbledon debut ends with injury

The last Brit left standing in the two main draws, teenage sensation Emma Raducanu, is out after she was forced to retire on medical grounds midway through her last 16 match.

Raducanu, 18, was trailing 4-6 0-3 when her trainer was called on during the second set. After a few moments in the treatment room, it was soon confirmed that she would not be returning.

Croatian-born Ajla Tomljanovic, who represents Australia, will go through to face compatriot and world No1 Ash Barty in the quarters.
