Paul Pogba finds himself at another crossroads in his rollercoaster career.

The World Cup winner's second spell at Juventus looks to be in danger of coming to a premature end.

Having only started one game last season due to persistent injuries, the Old Lady are said to be keen to offload the midfielder.

In what looks likely to be a crucial summer for Pogba, we look at his prospects at Juventus and what other opportunities may be out there.

Injury woes

A year ago Pogba was looking for a fresh start after leaving Manchester United on a free transfer.

Within weeks of moving back to Juventus, he suffered a meniscus injury that resulted in knee surgery.

Pogba did not play for Juve until February this year when he appeared as a substitute in a victory over local rivals Torino.

A muscle injury disrupted his comeback and the French international only made his first start against Cremonese in May before leaving the field with a hamstring problem after 24 minutes.

In total, Pogba only played 161 minutes for Juventus last season. He is thought to be paid £180,000-a-week by the club.

The disparity between availability and expense does much to demonstrate why the Serie A giants are considering the future of a player who still has three years remaining on his contract.

Saudi speculation

Given his injury record, there seems little hope of Juventus being able to sell Pogba and receive any sort of fee.

Yet if there were a club that could better the 30-year-old's financial package, then the Old Lady might be able persuade him to move on.

The current investment in the Saudi Professional League creates the potential for such a scenario.

Reports claim that Al-Ahli have offered Pogba a three-year contract worth in the region of £86,000,000.

That would dwarf the former United star's current wages and rid Juventus of an expensive player who has shown little evidence that he is able to remain fit.

Pogba took a major pay cut when he left Old Trafford. That would suggest that money was not his main motivation when he moved to the Allianz Stadium last year.

The question is whether the playmaker still retains the hunger to try to rejuvenate his career at Juventus.

Emotional decision

Part of the appeal of Juventus for Pogba is the positive experience that he had during his first spell for the club.

He recently said: "I came back to Juve, why? Because it's really the club that helped me push myself.

"And really the love from the fans, the love from the club that I get, I didn't get that in Manchester."

Pogba's words suggest that his decision to rejoin Juventus was a emotional one, allied to a desire to remain at the top of the game.

He went on to state that his injury issues last season were down to a mental problem.

Pogba said: "When you are not well in the head, the body follows. I was stressed, my body was tense.

"And I wanted so much to come back quickly, to play and show people, to shut everyone up a bit."

If Pogba could rebuild his confidence over pre-season, then perhaps he could yet prove to Juventus that he was worth their investment.
