Transfer Talk: Newcastle join Chelsea in race for Seagulls star Trossard
Chelsea will face competition from Newcastle for Leandro Trossard if they make a move for the Brighton winger.
Trossard, 27, has been in red-hot form for the Seagulls this term, scoring five goals in nine Premier League games.
As soon as Graham Potter swapped Brighton for Chelsea, rumours surfaced that Trossard may follow his former boss to West London.
But Potter is not the only influential figure to leave the South Coast in recent months, with ex-technical director Dan Ashworth now at Newcastle.
He helped bring Trossard to the Amex and is now keen to tempt the Belgian to St James’ Park as the Magpies continue to put together an impressive squad, say 90min.
The Seagulls are desperate to tie down their No11 to a more lucrative deal with his current contract running out next summer.
But he is yet to put pen to paper and a move to a club playing in Europe may prove too good to turn down.
Trossard admitted as much on international duty last month but said at the weekend any talk must be put on hold until after the World Cup.
