Cody Gakpo could still seal a Premier League switch before tomorrow’s transfer deadline as three clubs continue to monitor his situation.

Gakpo, 23, has been linked to English shores all summer, with first Nottingham Forest and then Manchester United supposedly keen.

While interest from that pair has since cooled, the PSV Eindhoven winger remains in demand and Southampton saw a £21.4million bid turned down last week.

The Saints remain keen on the Netherlands international but, according to The Telegraph, will now face competition from Everton and Leeds.

Frank Lampard’s Toffees are expected to strengthen their forward ranks before the window slams shut having failed to win any of their opening five top-flight games.

Meanwhile, Leeds boss Jesse Marsch told reporters yesterday that the Yorkshire outfit are "working hard" on additions ahead of tomorrow’s 11pm deadline.

Under the tutelage of current boss Ruud van Nistelrooy, Gakpo has made a fine start to the new campaign with three goals in as many Eredivisie games.

But asked this week whether a potential move away from Eindhoven had been impacted by United’s capture of his countryman Antony, the player was dismissive.

Gakpo told reporters: "It’s fun for [Antony] but for me and my future, I think that has no influence.

"It’s like a puzzle, so in the next few days I will see which puzzle fits best. For me, it would certainly not be bad to stay at PSV. We’ll see."

Having signed a contract extension until 2026 earlier this year, the Dutch giants believe they can fetch upwards of £35m for their prized asset and refuse to sell cheaply.

Brighton are keen to keep hold of 20-year-old Ecuador international Moises Caicedo amid interest from Liverpool, according to talkSPORT.

The Daily Mail claim Chelsea are in discussions with RB Leipzig to sign Josko Gvardiol for £75m, though the Croatian would be loaned immediately back to his current club until next summer.

United have admitted defeat in their long-standing pursuit of Barcelona midfielder Frenkie de Jong report Goal, though they may move for him again in January.
