Moises Caicedo is in demand with Chelsea and Liverpool eyeing a move

Chelsea are preparing a mega-money bid for Moises Caicedo as they look to beat Liverpool to his signature.

Jurgen Klopp revealed that Brighton had accepted the Reds' offer — worth a reported £110million — yesterday and the midfielder was set to undergo a medical.

But according to multiple reports, the Blues have not given up on their pursuit and will launch a British-record raid to sign Caicedo from under their rivals' noses.

The playmaker is believed to prefer a move to West London having seen an approach from the Stamford Bridge club rebuffed by Brighton in January.

Both sides have seen their engine rooms depleted this summer and landing the 21-year-old would be a huge boost to Klopp or opposite number Mauricio Pochettino.

Their rivalry will spill onto the field tomorrow as the Reds travel to London for their Premier League opener.

Liverpool may switch their attention to Romeo Lavia, who starred for a poor Southampton side last season.

Sky Sports are reporting that the Saints will not budge on their £50m valuation as they look to secure a Premier League return.

And the same outlet claim Chelsea's move for Leeds midfielder Tyler Adams has broken down.
