A new striker is expected to sit at the top of Arsenal's wish list this summer.

Manager Mikel Arteta is keen to add a prolific No9 to his ranks, with Gabriel Jesus and Eddie Nketiah blowing hot and cold in front of goal.

Ahead of the title-chasing Gunners' trip to Sheffield United on Monday, we look at the options they might be considering.

Ivan Toney

Ivan Toney remains the top target but landing the Brentford striker is far from a foregone conclusion.

The Bees ace, 27, has been in excellent form since returning from his gambling ban, scoring four goals in seven appearances.

Premier League rivals Chelsea are seemingly Arsenal's main competitors, with a fee in excess of £100million thought to be required for Brentford to sanction a sale.

Evan Ferguson

If a move for Toney does not come off, Brighton teenager Evan Ferguson would be a good alternative.

The Republic of Ireland starlet, 19, looks destined for a brilliant career after scoring 12 goals in his first 44 top-flight appearances.

Much like Brentford, the Seagulls have previously shown willingness to sell for the right price. But given Ferguson's potential, any potential fee is likely to be extremely hefty.

Victor Osimhen

Nigeria striker Victor Osimhen appears destined to leave Napoli this summer and the Premier League is his favoured destination.

The 25-year-old ace is also being tracked by Chelsea, who are rumoured to be hunting a No9 after failing to find the net on a consistent basis.

Osimhen scored 31 goals in 39 games during Napoli's title-winning campaign last season but has only 13 to his name this term — so the Gunners may be wary of breaking the bank for the Super Eagles star.

Viktor Gyokeres

Enjoying a more fruitful campaign is Viktor Gyokeres, who has handled the step up from Championship Coventry to Portuguese giants Sporting with ease.

The Swede has bagged 30 goals in 33 appearances in all competitions, including five in his seven Europa League outings.

Despite only joining last summer, the 25-year-old is already attracting interest from some of Europe's giants and Gyokeres could be as good an investment for the Gunners as any in this list.

Joshua Zirkzee

A more left-field option would be to go for Joshua Zirkzee, whose reputation continues to grow at Bologna.

The striker, 22, came through Bayern Munich's youth system before leaving permanently in 2022 for Serie A, where he has scored 12 goals in 44 appearances.

A move to Manchester United has also been rumoured for the pacey and physical Dutchman, while Bayern also reportedly have a buy-back clause.
