Transfer Talk: Gunners target attacking trio after Mudryk blow
Arsenal are targeting a trio of attackers after missing out on long-term target Mykhailo Mudryk to London rivals Chelsea.
According to 90min, the Premier League leaders have made contact with Barcelona over the potential signings of Brazilian winger Raphinha and Spain international Ferran Torres.
They have also been offered the chance to sign wantaway Brighton forward Leandro Trossard, say The Independent.
Chelsea sensationally sealed the reported £88million capture of Ukrainian winger Mudryk after the Gunners were unable to strike a deal with Shakhtar Donetsk, despite months of negotiations.
Mikel Arteta is still hopeful of another attacking signing this month after watching his men extend their top-flight lead to eight points by beating North London rivals Tottenham 2-0 on Sunday.
Barca are supposedly keen to balance their books and open to letting one of their forward players leave this month for a reasonable fee.
It is no coincidence that the two Blaugrana stars being targeted by Arsenal both have a wealth of Premier League experience.
They were keen on Raphinha, 26, prior to his switch from Leeds last summer, while 22-year-old Torres arrived at the Camp Nou from Manchester City a little over 12 months ago.
Trossard, meanwhile, appears destined to leave Brighton this month after a falling out with manager Roberto De Zerbi — Chelsea and Spurs have also been linked with the 28-year-old Belgian.
