Royal Ascot reaches a grand finale on Saturday afternoon as the meeting spins the final bend and hears the sound of the famous bell ringing to signal the finishing line is coming into view.

This meeting prides itself on being a truly international stage for the best thoroughbreds in the world to come and showcase their talents.

Of course, Britain and Ireland are the dominant forces, but Ascot does a fine job in ensuring the global market is represented and that is illustrated on Saturday with contenders from France, Scandinavia, Hong Kong, the United States of America and, of course, Australia — a nation with a sparkling Royal Ascot tradition.

Most of those international contenders are here for the Queen Elizabeth II Jubilee Stakes, which is the final Group 1 of the meeting.

The six-furlong speed test features last year's third Artorius, as well as fellow southern hemisphere challengers Cannonball and The Astrologist, Coeur De Pierre for France, US hopeful Big Invasion and Wellington, who was a Group 1 winner in Hong Kong under Ryan Moore in December and once more reunited with the top pilot now.

Home hopes include triple Group 1-winning mare Highfield Princess, unlucky in the King's Stand here on Tuesday, and another mare, Sacred, for the bang in-form William Haggas and Tom Marquand partnership. 

She was a fast-finishing fifth 12 months ago, beaten a length, after coming in without a prep run and the Cheveley Park runner impressed in last month's winning comeback at Lingfield.

Later, look out for Duca Di Como representing trainer Catherin Erichsen in the Wokingham.

He is a prolific winner in Norway/Sweden over further, arrives off the back of a convincing success and has seemingly been given a chance by the handicapper on this first British start.

Best bet of the day: Sacred to win the Queen Elizabeth II Jubilee Stakes (15:40) @ 7/1

Royal Ascot's closing Group 1 is a very open affair but there is lots to be positive about in regards to the hopes of SACRED. 

The Cheveley Park-owned mare was fifth in this contest 12 months ago, taking some time to get going from the rear and then beaten a length at the line as she ran out of time.

She is very closely matched with the likes of Artorius and Highfield Princess on that form and, while she lacked a prep run last year, she looked as good as ever in last month's Group 3 comeback win at Lingfield.

With that effort behind her, she could be set to emulate Highfield Princess with a sparkling summer at five-years-old.

Haggas and Marquand have enjoyed a fine week to this point and they may get the chance to cap it with a Group 1 victory.

Best each-way bet of the day: Cuban Dawn each-way in the Golden Gates Stakes (17:35) @ 20/1

The final piece of the handicap jigsaw comes via the Golden Gates Stakes over a mile-and-a-quarter and, given the way things have gone this week, few will discount Frankie Dettori from signing off with a winner on his final Royal Ascot ride on board Knockbrex.

His form is strong and the trip looks optimal but, with LiveScoreBet paying five places instead of four, some value could be had via CUBAN DAWN for Irish trainer Jim Bolger.

The Teofilo colt was not disgraced in a Listed race at the Curragh on debut which was won by Paddington, who claimed the St James's Palace Stakes winner here on Tuesday.

He has since finished second in a pair of mile maidens at Cork and Gowran Park when beaten by a couple of smart prospects representing Dermot Weld and Moyglare Stud.

This rise in trip should suit and, having been sold this week for £300,000, connections have secured Hollie Doyle for his handicap bow.

Bet 1: Back Covey to win the Jersey Stakes (15:05) @ 2/1

Frankel colt COVEY is making rapid progress for John & Thady Gosden and he blew away a decent field in last month's Silver Bowl Handicap at Haydock off a mark of 90.

On that evidence, he is surely going to be a group-race winner before long and with Dettori doing the steering, this looks the ideal stage.

Bet 2: Back Deauville Legend to win the Hardwicke Stakes (16:20) @ 7/1

Hukum and Free Wind are key players here but there are some promising 4YOs with potential for improvement and they include last year's impressive Great Voltigeur winner DEAUVILLE LEGEND for trainer James Ferguson.

He was progressive last term and ran a fine fourth in the Melbourne Cup in November. 

With that in mind, he should have more to give and that makes him a danger to these older rivals.

Bet 3: Back Dawn Rising to win the Queen Alexandra Stakes (18:10) @ 3/1

The curtain call is, of course, the longest race of the meeting at 2m5½f and Stratum goes for a hat-trick of wins for Willie Mullins. He is now a 10YO and in DAWN RISING he faces a young rival with plenty to offer.

He had some smart Flat form as a 3YO and returned from a long absence with a solid season over hurdles that included a Grade 3 win and Grade 1 third.

Dawn Rising warmed up for this with a spin around Leopardstown last month where he was under pressure a long way out but stayed going for third in the Group 3 Levmoss Stakes.

On that evidence, this marathon should suit and he has got Moore piloting as Joseph O'Brien looks get a rare Royal Ascot winner for owner JP McManus.
