Romelu Lukaku has called on his Roma team-mates to kick off a winning streak after his goal helped down Frosinone on Sunday.

Jose Mourinho's side had won just one of their opening six league matches of the season prior to the 2-0 victory that saw them rise to 12th in the Serie A table.

And now the on-loan Chelsea forward, 30, is demanding continued improvement.

He said: "We spoke to the coach these days and we said to each other that it was important to win today.

"We played a good game and we put everything into it, scored two goals and kept a clean sheet.

"The coach knows me very well and we have an important relationship. The truth is that I have to make myself available to the team and I have team-mates who are very good at helping me.

"We all know that we are in a difficult position but the season is long and we have to continue like this."

The Belgian also heralded the "extraordinary qualities" of his strike partner Paulo Dybala, who assisted both goals at the Stadio Olimpico.

The pair have six strikes between them this term, with Lukaku accounting for four in his last five appearances.

Mourinho's men are back in action against Servette in the Europa League on Thursday before travelling to Cagliari in the league on Sunday.

But the future of the ex-Chelsea boss remains up in the air with his contract set to expire next summer.

He revealed after Sunday's victory that he had turned down "the biggest and craziest offer" in managerial history to remain in Italy.
