There is just a point between Queens Park Rangers and Preston in the Championship standings and both teams are on a solid run of form as they meet this weekend in west London.

The Lilywhites nearly won at home to Leeds United last weekend before conceding a 93rd minute equaliser, but that was a demonstration of a team that are playing better than their position in the table suggests.

QPR, meanwhile, are also unbeaten in six, mixing three wins with three draws since a 2-0 loss to Leeds at Elland Road in early November.

Team news

Preston have a full squad to take on this trip, but will be cautious with Stefan Thordarson, Kaine Kesler-Hayden, Andrew Hughes and Liam Lindsay as the games start to pile up.

On-loan Leeds forward Sam Greenwood is available for selection again after having had to miss out against his parent club last weekend.

For QPR, Rayan Kolli came off against Bristol City as he recovers from an illness and is a doubt.

Jake Clark-Salter, Jack Colback, Zan Celar and Kader Dembele are long-term absentees and this game will come too soon for all of them.

The stats

There have been under 2.5 goals in nine of QPR's last 11 games in the Championship and Preston's last six have gone under 2.5 goals.

Preston (10) and QPR (11) are two of the three teams in the Championship who have drawn at least 10 of their league games, with West Brom (11) the other.

Both teams have an identical goal difference, having both scored 21 and conceded 27 this term.

Prediction

Preston picked up their first away win of the season on their last road trip against Cardiff and could be the value selection to edge what should be an ultra-competitive affair between the Lilywhites and the R's.

After a slow start to the season the Rangers are moving back in the right direction, but a plethora of stalemates for both of these teams has held back their progress up the second tier table.

North End have drawn a whopping 11 of their 21 league games, while QPR are not far behind, having shared the spoils 10 times already this season.

A repeat of that outcome is a short price as a result, so it may make sense to play in the draw no bet market to take the stalemate out of the equation altogether.

Preston have very few injury issues to deal with at the moment, in contrast with their hosts and they showed in last week’s 1-1 draw with Leeds that they can go toe-to-toe with any side in the division.

North End are unbeaten in their last six outings and could pick up a crucial second away win of the campaign.
