- QPR's four home wins this season have all come since the start of December
- Luton, relegated from the Premier League last season, are just two points above the Championship drop zone

QPR to win

Burnley and Sheffield United are going well as they bid to bounce straight back to the Premier League but the same cannot be said of Luton, the third team relegated from the top flight in 2023/24.

The Hatters are desperate to avoid back-to-back relegations under Rob Edwards but their shocking away record has left them just five points above bottom club Plymouth.

Monday's hosts QPR had a dismal start to the season but have clicked into gear in recent weeks and they are targeting a fifth straight home victory when they face the unhappy Hatters.

Team news

QPR's defence could be bolstered by the arrival of Ronnie Edwards on loan from Southampton. Lucas Andersen is a doubt and Steve Cook, Zan Celar, Karamoko Dembele and Liam Morrison remain sidelined.

Luton welcome back Liam Walsh and Joe Johnson after their suspensions and Jordan Clark faces a fitness test. Reece Burke, Shandon Baptiste, Alfie Doughty, Tom Lockyer and Teden Mengi are injured.

The stats

QPR have won their last four home matches in the Championship

The Hoops have had 11 draws in 25 league games this season

QPR have lost only one of their last 10 matches in the league

Luton have lost 10 of their 12 away matches this term

The Hatters have been beaten to nil in three of their last five games

Luton's last four matches were all level at half-time

Prediction

QPR started the Championship season with a nine-game winless streak on their own patch but they have won their last four home matches and can extend that run against Luton.

The Hoops have also been more competitive on the road since the November international break and morale should be high after just one defeat in 10 games.

They beat Norwich 3-0, Oxford 2-0, Preston 2-1 and Watford 3-1 in their last four in west London, also picking up creditable draws away to the Canaries and the Hornets.

Marti Cifuentes' men were 2-0 up at half-time against Watford in their last game and another strong start could prove decisive against a Luton side lacking confidence.

The Hatters put up a decent fight against Premier League relegation last season, despite their limited financial resources by top-flight standards.

But they have struggled to put teams away in the Championship, claiming six of their seven wins by a 1-0 or 2-1 margin and losing four of their last five.

Their 10 away defeats include a 3-1 loss at bottom club Plymouth and they are likely to suffer yet another setback on their travels against in-form QPR.
