Cristiano Ronaldo will want to get off the mark at Euro 2024 against Slovenia

The last 16 of the European Championship continues on Monday when much-fancied France take on Belgium in Dusseldorf in a mouth-watering tie, before Portugal's bid for glory continues with a clash against Slovenia.

France vs Belgium (Monday, 5pm)

Bet 1: Draw (Match result)

Two of Europe's strongest teams meet in Dusseldorf when neighbours France and Belgium go head-to-head.

Neither side has particularly caught fire in the tournament yet with Les Bleus winning once and drawing twice in the group stage, while the Red Devils won one, lost one and drew one.

It could be cagey with a place in the last eight up for grabs and the two talented sides may cancel each other out in normal time with extra-time and even penalties a distinct possibility.

Bet 2: Romelu Lukaku to have over 0.5 shots on target

Lukaku has had three goals ruled out by VAR in the tournament so the unfortunate on-loan Roma striker will be desperate to finally get off the mark against France.

Lukaku has been a real threat for Belgium and has had seven attempts on target in the Euros, with only Germany's Kai Havertz, who has nine, having had more efforts on target than him so far.

Bet 3: Kylian Mbappe to have over 0.5 shots on target

Mbappe suffered a broken nose in the first game against Austria so sat out the draw with Netherlands before returning for France to score from the penalty spot in the final group game against Poland.

The 25-year-old has yet to show his best form in Germany but he has still managed 10 attempts, six of which have been on target, from just two outings, so he seems likely to register at least one attempt on target in this last-16 tie.

Portugal vs Slovenia (Monday, 8pm)

Bet 1: Portugal to win

Portugal won their first two group games, seeing off Czech Republic 2-1 and Turkey 3-0, before they were surprisingly beaten 2-0 by Georgia in their third match.

However, Roberto Martinez's men were already through so they can probably be excused the slip-up against determined opponents.

Slovenia will set themselves up to be difficult to beat and have exceeded expectations to reach this stage thanks to three draws against Denmark, Serbia and England, but taking on a team containing the talents of Cristiano Ronaldo, Bernardo Silva and Bruno Fernandes looks a step too far.

Bet 2: Cristiano Ronaldo to score anytime

Ronaldo has not scored in Germany yet this summer but it has not been for the lack of trying as the former Real Madrid and Manchester United star has had 12 attempts in three matches.

Ronaldo will want to make his mark on Euro 2024 in what could be his last major tournament appearance for his country and the man with 130 goals for Portugal usually delivers on the biggest stage.

Bet 3: Benjamin Sesko to have over 0.5 shots on target

Sesko has shone up front for Slovenia with the highly-rated RB Leipzig striker managing five shots in total in the first three games.

The 21-year-old registered one shot on target against both Serbia and England and he looks by far the most likely Slovenian player to trouble Portugal keeper Diogo Costa in Frankfurt.
