The second international break of the season is looming but we first have a full set of fixtures to enjoy across Europe this weekend, with some notably interesting clashes taking place on Sunday.

There is a top-two clash in Germany as Bayern Munich take on Eintracht Frankfurt, Fiorentina vs Milan is the standout fixture in Italy and a Seville derby between Sevilla and Real Betis could prove to be the feistiest affair of the day.

We have picked out five teams worth backing on the continent this Sunday, either in a single bet or as part of an accumulator.

Looking away from Europe’s top five leagues, Estoril make for an interesting bet in Portugal as they will be taking on the Primeira Liga’s basement boys on Sunday afternoon.

Estoril’s only defeat in their last five games came against champions and league leaders Sporting and they should fare much better against Farense, who have lost six of their seven matches - drawing the other - while scoring just two goals.

The aggregate score of last season’s meetings went 6-3 in Estoril’s favour and they again look a stronger outfit than Sunday’s hosts this time around.

Brest earned plenty of plaudits for their midweek rout of Salzburg in the Champions League and their strong recent home form suggests they should build on that against Le Havre this weekend.

The Pirates have won their last three home games by an aggregate score of 8-1 and they should have too much for Sunday’s visitors, who have lost their last three games by the same combined scoreline.

Le Havre are winless in the last three meetings between the pair and Brest should increase their head-to-head winning streak to three with victory on Sunday.

The first Seville derby of the season arrives with neither side in stellar form, meaning home advantage could be the deciding factor.

Sevilla started the season dreadfully but have picked up seven points from their last four matches and their strong home record in this fixture - they have won five and drawn two of the last seven head-to-heads at the Ramon Sanchez-Pizjuan Stadium - should see them land the victory.

A 1-0 away loss at Legia Warsaw on Thursday would not have done much for Betis’ fitness and morale and they may struggle against their improving rivals.

Fiorentina are beginning to pick up some form but their last Serie A game resulted in a disappointing 0-0 draw with Empoli and they could struggle to cope with AC Milan, who have won three league matches on the spin.

That run for the Rossoneri saw a sensational 2-1 victory over champions Inter sandwiched between two wins to nil and given they completed the double over La Viola last term, it could pay to back Paulo Fonseca’s men to extend their domestic winning streak on Sunday.

One look at Atletico Madrid’s midweek result - a 4-0 thrashing at Benfica - could temper enthusiasm for their chances this weekend, but it is not as if Real Sociedad are in good form themselves.

Sunday’s hosts were beaten 2-1 by Anderlecht on Thursday and have now won just two of their 10 matches all season.

Atleti were unbeaten on the road prior to their ill-fated trip to Portugal and should get back on track by beating Real Sociedad, who they completed the double against last term to increase their unbeaten head-to-head streak to six games.
