Merseyside sensation Michael Aldag spoke exclusively to LiveScore ahead of his beloved Liverpool's trip to top-four rivals Newcastle on Sunday.

The 21-year-old reveals his Reds heroes and hopes for Jurgen Klopp's men this season.

First heartbreak

Supporting Liverpool was a family thing. My dad is a diehard fan and turned me into a football supporter before I was a music man.

Fernando Torres is my favourite ever player, hands down. I would save all my pocket money and get a kit with his name on every year.

I suffered my first heartbreak when he went to Chelsea. That was when I knew the world was not fair.

I have not allowed myself to fall for a player the same way since. Torres has scarred me. I attach myself to Trent [Alexander-Arnold] now because I feel like full-backs are less likely to be on the move.

Klopp's heroes

Jurgen Klopp has been a perfect fit at Liverpool. His ethos and the positivity he brings has changed the feeling around everything.

Even when you are at the stadium, you can sense the hope in the air.

I remember going out into town as a teenager when we won the Champions League in 2019. The atmosphere was insane and I have still never experienced anything like it since.

It was a shame we could not have a proper parade when we won the Premier League but I would love to be there again when we next win something.

Lower expectations

I think finishing in the top four and winning the Europa League would be a really good season for us.

Obviously there has been a big rebuild that needed to happen and that means my expectations in the league are a little bit lower than in previous years.

The attack has completely changed recently. Roberto Firmino has gone so it feels like you have Mohamed Salah and then everybody else is relatively new.

Dominik Szoboszlai is really good and Wataru Endo looks like he loves a tackle. With Alexis Mac Allister as well it is a fresh midfield but we still have the spine of the team that has won everything under Klopp.

Always a tough game

A lot of people are saying Newcastle are not going to do anything this year because they are in the Champions League but I do think that is a bit patronising.

They have got a really good squad and it is always a tough game. I have never been to St James' Park but I have done shows in Newcastle and seen it.

It is a big stadium.

The away fans get nosebleeds up at the top of that stand behind the goal so I cannot imagine it is a pleasant place to play as an away team.

I would probably take a well-fought draw but I will be a bit more optimistic with my prediction and go for a 2-1 win.

I think we will make a silly error to let them in but then pull it back.
